McClellan's News Week 5

Dear Room 108 Families, What a great week! The children are doing wonderfully. We are moving right along.

SOCIAL STUDIES The students started the economics unit this week. They have learned about choices and earning money. To reinforce this I will be giving the children McClellan bucks for their hard work and good behavior throughout the day. At the end of the week they can purchase small items from the "store" with their McClellan bucks.

Science The children are doing great with the matter unit. They all did a terrific job with their colors and they are learning their shapes nicely.

Language Arts The children are doing an awesome job learning to read and have learned two new sounds “s ” and “t” . We also added two sight words to our vocabulary.. "we" and "go". In addition two new word families have been introduced..

"-at" and "-an". Please review those at home on a daily basis, so we can continue doing such a great job.

MATHEMATICS This week we started our daily math calendar activities which included making patterns with numbers, graphing the weather, and starting our hundred's day chart.
