Writer’s Workshop:

Our Concept books are almost complete. Ask your child what they picked to write about. We had several concepts including, weather, seasons, farm animals, clothes, wild animals and even furniture chosen by your children. They are beginning to do better with stretching out their words and developing some confidence with writing. This week we will share in our Author’s chair our books- we get to ear an “author’s crown when we are sharing our completed books.” We will begin to discuss writing about one topic and write in sentence format this week. Our Principal Mrs. Lewis will do a special “prompts with the principal” activity this Friday and will be giving us a topic to try to write about. This is being implemented one time per month as a part of our School Improvement Plan. I will score your child’s writing using the report card writing rubric and be sending home the results.

As always we are so busy in our Kindergarten Class- I am proud of all the students accomplishments so far this year. It is amazing how they have changed since their first day of Kindergarten. Thank you for all the continued support on your end as this is so important for your child. I appreciate you as parents reinforcing skills, reading newsletters, and participating in your child’s education. This November I am Thankful for all the great BPE Parents that I have the opportunity to work with.
