Mayor Honors Rotary On Wednesday, October 21, Campbell Mayor Jane Kennedy presented a proclamation to President Rick Davis recognizing Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio world wide. The presentation took place at the regular meeting of the Campbell Chamber of Commerce. President Rick did a great job in accepting the proclamation from Mayor Kennedy. He thanked her for addressing our club earlier this year, thanked the CofC for their hospitality and then invited

everyone to attend our signature event in April. He also put in a plug for them to sponsor the event or donate prizes for our silent auction. In his usual dignified style, President Rick highlighted all the things our club does here in Campbell as well as our projects around the world. There were about a dozen club members also in attendance to cheer Rick on. It was a great honor to be recognized in such a public and significant manner. Great job, Rick!!!

Celebrate life-the 60’s preview

Last Thursday several members of the organizing committee attended a pre-holiday party at the Plaza Hotel in the Pruneyard, the site of our first annual signature event in April. It was great to see the rooms decorated and lit for a fun social occasion. We can now easily imagine what a great time we are going to have when we celebrate life, 60’s style!!!



CAMPBELL ROTARY CLUB FUN, FITNESS AND FELLOWSHIP Run, walk or stroll the second of our urban park trails with the fellowship of your fellow Rotarians. Get fit…have fun!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 @8:30AM START: SARATOGA DOG PARK @ SARATOGA CREEK PARK

PATH: North through Saratoga Creek Park then North on Lawrence Expressway. Cross Lawrence Expressway @Moorpark Ave. then south on the San Tomas Aquino/Saratoga Creek Trail to Prospect Ave. Cross Lawrence Expressway then North back to dog park. DURATION: Walk, run or stroll the whole 3 mile trail or go as far as you want and turn around!

TRAIL DETAILS Trail Exertion Level: EASY All flat, some sections paved, others are gravel. Bikes, runners and walkers on trail together. Mostly sunny Low traffic on trail Kid friendly Dog friendly (on leash)

WHAT TO BRING Plenty of water Sunscreen Hat or visor Spouse, partner, kids/grandkids, friends, potential members, dogs

MEETING POINT TO START We will meet at the Saratoga Dog Park in Saratoga Creek Park in San Jose. Park on Graves Avenue or in the back parking lot of Orchard Supply Hardware. WE WILL MEET AT 8:30. WE WILL DEPART AT 8:45. If you get there late, go north to catch up. RUN! WALK! OR STROLL! GO AT YOUR OWN PACE AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN!

SARATOGA CREEK PARK: In San Jose along Lawrence Expressway. Park on Graves Avenue or behind the Orchard Supply Hardware parking lot. Enter the park at the South End to the dog park.
