Studies on Strychnos potatorum L. Rangwala et al., (1997) have reported that the plant material Strychnos potatorum L act as a coagulant. The color and odor removal study has been performed by Vasanthy et al., (2004). The authors reported that treatment B (Calcium Oxide + Hydrogen Peroxide + Strychnos potatorum L.) resulted in higher reduction of TDS and COD ( 79 and 92 % ) respectively when compared with treatment A ( Hydrogen Peroxide + Strychnos potatorum L. ). Vasanthy et al., (2006) have found the antioxidant property of nirmali seeds. And they reported that about 97% of nitrate was removed from the 100ppm solution within 48 hrs.
