MEDICAL FACILITIES „

„

Medical facilities are available at hostel, which is located in in the city and at college. A panel of doctors approved from Amravati University is appointed for regular medical needs at the campus dispensary. The doctors appointed are of well repute and running their clinics / hospitals in the city. When needed, facilities like hospitalization are utilized by the students. Also the parent society runs one medical college and hospital at a distance of 90 km from the campus. It organizes regular medical checkup / blood donation camp apart from the routine care taking of appointed doctors. Blood donation camps are arranged by the Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical college, Amravati at the college besides free medical checkups.

D- 6

FIFTH PAY D.A. The college is paying D.A. of 61% to the staff. The total emoluments are Basic +50% D.A. (merged D.A.) + 11% D.A. +5% HRA + conveyance allowance. The salaries are paid through Central Bank of India, Shivani Branch, Akola.

D- 7

SKILL UPGRADATION „

„

Recently two laboratory attendants have completed a course in computer. Time scale promotions are carried out time to time. In addition, we had appointed a technical person (Mr. Kawalkar) from NOCIL, Akola for giving electrical / electronic trouble shooting maintenance of Machines to Students and Technical staff of department every Saturday / Sunday. Apart from their training the technical staff is regularly accompanying the students and teachers visiting National / International exhibition like IMTEX, TOOLTECH, etc.

D-8 and D-9

STUDENT INTAKE From 1983 up to 1996 over department was able to get full intake filled in first year admission. But due to Information Technology phenomena demand for NON-IT courses was drastically decreased and specially for Production Engineering. Due to which there was closer of Production engineering courses at nearby institutes, such as C.O.E. Badnera, B.D.C.O.E. Wardha, C.O.E. & T. Jalgaon and Raisoni C.O.E. Nagpur, that had caused a major set back in admission of students interested in Production Engineering.

D-8 and D-9

STUDENT INTAKE This seems to be a temporary phenomenon, market trend shows that there is increase in demand for production engineering students. Steels plants are feeling acute shortage of production engineers. Production engineers are also preferred in marketing jobs. Service industries are increasing, many of production engineers started their own services. As the globalization proceeds, there will be more computer operated machines and industries and hence we see bright future for production engineers. This will definitely reflect in the coming years and hence we have very high hope of filling at least reduced intake of 40 to fullest extent.

D-10 and D-12

CAMPUS PLACEMENT „

The department and college is taking a lot of efforts for placement of students. About 40% students are placed through campus interviews & interviews at industries at their place. In academic year 2005 – 2006 many companies have participated in a placement till to date.
