THE CHURCH SPHEREHEADED BY GOD CARES FOR THE YOUTH

“ YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND LIGHT TO MY PATH”

The National Youth 2006 “Your Word is a Lamp To my Feet and a Light to my Path” The National Youth Day celebration is a one week Youth conference from November 7-12, 2006. The theme for this youth conference is geared towards the formation of the Youth guided by Psalm 119(118) that’s stated “Your Word is a Lamp to My Feet and light to my Path”. The Holy father Pope Benedict XV recommended this verse in the Bible as Our dearly beloved John Paul II elucidated on the same verse that follows “ The One who prays pours out his thanks for the Law of God that He adopt, as Lamp for his steps in the often dark path of Life. This theme encourages us to See Jesus with his Word. Apostolic Nuncio of the Philippines Archbishop Fernando Filoni delivers his inspirational message for the Youth and boast the morale of Davaoeños for holding the National Youth Conference in Davao. Immaculate Conception University, Holy Cross Of Davao College and Ateneo de Davao University are the three catechetical sites that houses, also different delegates from Zamboanga City, both Parish and Catholic schools participated in that very special endeavor. To mention a few of the conference’s objectives: here are some: To deepen our faith grounded in the Word of God And To re-affirm that the Church cares for the Youth The most challenging part of the experience is that Me and other delegates were made to walk 14 kilometers Pilgrim from SM Mall Ecoland to the Santo Niño Shrine which is elevated, that overlooks the whole city of Davao. Right after the delegates arrive, Archbishop Fernando Capalla, Archbishop of Davao celebrates the Mass with Five Bishops and Two hundred Priests coming from the different places of the Philippines.
