I believe that the acids will be between 0-7 and the bases will be
between the 7-14.
Materials: • 1 qt water • 1 qt water + 1 c sugar • 1 pitcher cabbage water • 1 qt water + 1 c baking soda • 1 qt vinegar • 1 8-oz. cup for each group • 1 qt water + 1/2 c milk of magnesia • 1/2 qt lemon juice • 8 1-oz. cups for each group • 1 qt water + 1/2 c salt • 1 qt tonic water • pH paper
Procedures: Obtain the materials needed above then fill each cup with 1 qt of the different liquids then pour the boiled red cabbage juice in the cups. Next take the pH paper and place half of the paper in the liquids for at least 20 seconds. Last take the paper and compare the color of the pH paper that was placed in the liquid to the color scale.
