Work Experience: • Research Economist at Center for Global Trade Analysis, Purdue University since May 2007: My job roles include: Construction of GTAP database, a multi-country multi-sector database for CGE analysis; Involved in a project that involves constructing database for African countries sponsored by European Commission, World Bank and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA); Teaching in the courses on GTAP and construction of InputOutput Tables; Independent research and related activities. • Fellow at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, from June 2006 to May 2007: My job responsibilities were: Working on projects from Governmental, international and industrial agencies in the broad areas of trade, industry and finance, as a lead investigator and/or co-ordinator. I was the principal investigator of the project on ‘Determinants of Competitiveness and Global Integration of Indian Automotive Sector’ for National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council (NMCC) and ACMA (Auto-Components Manufacturers Association). I also co-ordinated the research projects on “Iron ore exports from India” funded by Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI) and “Financial Sector Development in India: Operational Strategies” funded by Capacity Building Research Institute, Germany (InWENT). • Teaching and Research Assistant to Dr. Kausik Chaudhuri, August 2005- June 2006: First Year MSc/M.Phil/Ph.D. students at IGIDR for the course on Econometrics-II. Work involved extracting the data from National Sample Survey from ASCII to readable format and Prowess using Stata and Sas. • Teaching and Research Assistant to Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma, August 2003-July 2005: Work involved data collection, analysis, editing of the reports, co-ordination and presentation of two projects: Maharashtra State Development Report, funded by Planning Commission, Government of India and State of Environment Report-Maharashtra, funded by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. I delivered a series of lectures on ‘Environmental Economics’, as a part of a course on ‘Energy and Environment’ offered for Second Year MSc/M.Phil/Ph.D. students at IGIDR. • Assistant Production Manager at DGM Textiles, Tirupur, May 2002-July 2002: Work involved planning, co-ordination and control of production of knitted garments (innerwear, shoes, T-shirts, etc.) for export to countries such as USA, Canada, Germany and UAE. After being trained for a week, I was put in charge of production in a new unit started by the company, reporting to managing partners.
