HE CURRENT POLITICAL CLIMATE IN PAKISTAN and southern regional countries deepens into total disarray as once again the political tension has displaced nearly four million people from their homes. They have been scattered around the region of Swat. Some have taken shelter in school buildings, whilst the majority remain homeless. This is the largest displacement crisis in the history of Pakistan. MWF immediately began relief work in both Swat and the Malakand division assisting those affected by the disaster. Up until now, 2 tent settlements and 38 residential units have been established. Of the latter, 23 are situated in Noshera and Mardan. We are pleased to say that more than 800 families and 7000 people are being supported by day to day essentials – one of the largest non governmental relief programs. In particular, it is worth noting that a large volunteer base of MWF workers in Noshera distributed 5 million rupees of relief aid (approx. £40,300).

Education: Education is always vital – an essential part of a young individuals life. MWF has initiated schools within the region. Despite this period of hardship, MWF continues to assist young children in progressing their education by providing qualified teachers, with all school necessities such as books, pens and uniforms. Donate: £50 for one month’s provisons and accommodation per family.

It is important to note that most of these people have not returned home yet. The people of this region require your help and His Eminence Shaykh ul Islam Dr Tahir ul Qadri has reinstated many times that the relief operation of MWF will not stop until the migrants have returned back to their homeland. 12 Carr Road, Nelson, Lancs. Minhaj Welfare Foundation alongside the Palestinian Embassy initiated relief aid. The aid was distributed in the refugee camps in Gaza. The aid included essential requirements of food, water, medical aid and blankets. In addition to providing Emergency Relief, MWF UK initiated an education project for students who were unable to financially aid themselves due to the climate of combat. Moreover, a total of 15 students from Gaza were also financially aided.

AGHOSH (ORPHAN CARE HOME)
S
OCIETY IS ALWAYS FACING A GREAT TEST from those who labour to dismantle it for selfish ends. The concept of peace and harmony hardly remains as many impoverished and unfortunate people are being discriminated against. One such commonly ignored group are orphans. These innocent young children have literally nothing in this world, having lost the love of their parents. Islam manifests great importance to caring for orphans, as the blessed Prophetic tradition states the Prophet (Blessings & Peace be upon him) said: “…THAT ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT I AND THAT PERSON WILL BE LIKE THIS” [Drawing His blessed fingers together, indicating the proximity of the Prophet Muhammad (Blessings & Peace be upon him) and the person who looks after an orphan]

HE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN have been deprived of the most basic facilities for countless years. Sadly it is the lower classes and the impoverished of society who are mostly deprived of education. Many millions are unable to read and write resulting in social anarchy. Minhaj Educational Society has established a network of schools, colleges and universities for the masses. We provide the following: C Free education for those who financially cannot afford it. C Suitable provision for widows and their children so they have no obstruction in their study. C Enriching the young generation to become true representatives of their country.

INHAJ WELFARE FOUNDATION WAS THE FIRST CHARITY in Pakistani history to initiate such a scheme. Unfortunately due to the financial situation and customs of Pakistan, many people cannot afford to get married. Many parents are unable to financially support their children. To date, MWF has arranged marriage ceremonies for over 416 impoverished girls. Each bridal household is given gifts worth over Rs 125,000 (£1100). This year on the 23rd April 2009, a wedding ceremony for 23 couples was carried out providing hospitality for 1500 guests. MWF aims to perform the marriage ceremonies of 63 impoverished girls in Pakistan in the year 2010.

ILLIONS WITNESSED THE DEVASTATION OF THE EARTHQUAKE which hit Pakistan four years ago. The tragic event of the earthquake still remains at large for many Pakistanis, as some are still affected by it. Millions were left homeless by the horrific disaster wherein thousands of people died. MWF provided medical aid, food, water and other essentials items. We have also established more than 15 settlements in various areas including Muzaffrabad, Balakot, Baagh, Waadi Neelam and Chakoti.
In addition to providing tent settlements, MWF has began work on education centres, schools and mosques in the above areas. This project will cost more than Rs12.5million (£105,000), whilst to date more than Rs250 million has been spent on earthquake relief. Our projects in the affected areas have been going on for over four years. We hope we can increase our work through your help.

AKISTAN HAS RECENTLY FACED YET ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE in the Balochistan province. This is a rural area of Pakistan wherein thousands have lost their lives. With many hundreds of thousands left homeless. Due to MWF’s extensive experience in this field, it has been at the forefront of assisting and aiding those affected by this and other natural disasters. As the earthquake occurred, MWF swiftly responded to deliver relief aid. Tents were established and hand pumps installed to cater for the daily needs of those affected. Truck loads of food, water, blankets and other necessities were distributed personally by MWF senior representatives alongside thousands of volunteers.
