Dj MÁRIO ROQUE Curriculum Vitae (ING)
Mário Roque aka X-Man is considered to be one of the most important and influential Portuguese dj’s, spanning a career of 25 years. Establishing his very own style in the national house scene, Mario is constantly requested to play from north to south of the country and is also booked a lot abroad where he has created a following wherever and whichever club he plays at. Some of the countries where he has played are Spain, England, Switzerland, Holland, France, South Africa and more recently Lithuania, U.S.A. and United Arabe Emirates. He has been resident Dj, past and present of numerous clubs in Portugal including Kremlin, Vaticano, Alcantara-Mar, Rocks, Cais 447, Pacha, and has played at other legendary clubs in Portugal such as Locomia, Kadoc, Capitulo V, Queens, Sushi-Club and Café, The Day After, Horta da Fonte and Paradise Garage in Lisbon where he had a long residency. Outside of Portugal he has played in clubs such as Ultimate Base in London, Deep, Midday and Kapital in Madrid, Row Club in Barcelona, Dreamer’s and OH Marbella in Marbella, Jam Club in Valencia, OH! Coruña, House Café, Joy Eslava and Telefunken in La Cournha in Spain, New York-New York in Genebra. Recently Mario has played in the USA at Club 207 and Club Spa in Manhatan as well as Blue Lounge Café in Brooklin. And more recently in Lithuania at Men’s Factory, Terra X and Combo, Oxygen Club and Glam Room at Dubai in the United Arabe Emirates. Mário is a master at extremely groovy house-music. His well structured sets are based on afro-tribal rhythmic beats mixed with hot vocals while carrying along on the dance floor an emotional and spiritual connection with the people. He has just released a mixed collection CD called afroDISIAK - Scrambled, mixed and cooked by Mario Roque released by the Portuguese record label Zona Musica. He has also 2 Mixed Compilations on Universal-MCA records, and, a remix of the house hit DESERT STORM.
