Moulin Rouge Prologue We lay our scene in city of Paris, The City of Lights which never burns out, Sparks the hearts of two who meet on terrace, Until the Moulin Rouge Hall came about, To ensure morals would stay in effect, When extensive measures were carried out, The jealous duke, who her heart does deject, Until the Moulin Rouge Hall came about, Bohemians began to rule the town, The Red Windmill’s sparking diamond, in love, The sparkling diamond will give up her crown, Paying suitors she soon did grow sick of, Penniless writer seeks refuge, not strife, As he tries to save sparkling diamond’s life.
