ACT I Scene 1

The setting is a narrow dirt road in Russia, outside the city of St. Petersburg, which has been reclaimed by the Russian Tactical Forces (RTF). It is an early December morning and the sunlight barely penetrates the thick fog that has formed. There is a light snowfall and the road is blanketed from the snowstorm that occurred the previous night. An eerie silence hangs over the landscape. The silence is occasionally broken with a quick gust of wind. A Siberian musk deer runs out into the road and halts in the middle. The sound of a truck engine is heard and the deer perks its ear. It runs across the remaining section of the road just as the headlights of the truck become visible. An olive green KAMAZ-5350 6x6 military truck comes into view. The windshield is partially covered by snow and windshield wipers are moving back and forth constantly keeping the remaining portion clear. The driver’s face can be seen clearly, but the passenger’s face is blocked by a map. The driver is KIRILL Sokolov, the commander of a squadron of five men (including him) in the RTF. He is dressed in Russian blue tiger pattern camouflage with an ushanka hat with the insignia of the RTF (a brown bear with the Russian flag waving behind it). He is a man in his early thirties, but the trials of war are expressed in his facial features. His face is heavily scarred and dark circlesare under his eyes from lack of sleep. His eyes are blue, but they are glazed fromfatigue. His nose is strong and his face is round with no facial hair growing on it. An orthodox cross hangs from his neck. His right hand has all five fingers, but his pinky is missing on his right hand. He is also mentally fatigued as he has seen many horrors of war. In the passenger’s seat is PETR Rostov, second in command. Like KIRILL he wears a blue tiger pattern camouflage and an ushanka hat. A medal of St. Catherine hangs around his neck. He is in his late twenties and, like his commander, has a distinct nose and a

round face. His face is flawless, except for the scar that runs down the right side of his face. A tattoo of the Russian word for “honor” (честь) has been etched on his neck. He is wearing reading glasses in attempt to read the map in his hand. He appears confused and his eyes struggle to stay open from lack sleep. He snaps out of this trance and moves his eyes closer to the map. The two men in the back of the truck are fast asleep. They are PAVEL Popova and GEORGY Novokov, members of the squadron. PAVEL is the youngest and smallest of the task force. He wears blue urban camouflage and has a matching cap atop his head. He has an aquiline nose and a dimple on his left cheek. His face is the least fatigued out of all the men and there is barely a presence of dark circles under his eyes. He has a natural moustache growing on his face. A medal of St. Pavel of Taganrog hangs around his neck. He suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome, which developed from multiple breaks in his wrist as a young child. Seated across from him is GEORGY, who is in an uneasy sleep, constantly squirming and shuffling, as he dreams of the status of his wife and two daughters who he left in Novosibirsk, the city just east of Omsk, which was heavily bombed by the Chinese Air Force. He is dressed as Pavel, except he is not wearing any kind of headgear. His pale eyes slowly open, but he does not make a sound. He stares off into the distance and looks at the snow covered road. His face shows the most fatigue out of any of the squadron, for he has had many restless nights, dreaming of his family and awakening in a cold sweat. There is no medal that hangs around his neck, as he does not consider himself a religious person. Instead a golden locket dangles from his neck, containing a picture of his wife and two daughters. He opens the locket and looks at the picture that is inside it and a tear trickles down his face. He struggles to hold the locket steady, for his hand shakes, a symptom of his tremors, which has developed from the amount of stress he has accumulated from worrying about his loved ones. PETR walks over to him and helps steady his hand.

PETR: (looking into his eyes) Do not worry about them, Georgy, they will be fine and you will return to them a hero.

GEORGY: (nodding his head and closing the locket) It is so much easier said than done.

PETR: (pats GEORGY on the shoulder and returns to the passenger’s seat). KIRILL has turned on the radio and the same message is playing over and over again in Russian: “This is a message to all Russian soldiers. You have nothing to fear if you surrender. You will be allowed to return to your homes and your families. All that the Chinese and Georgian militaries ask is that you hand over your weapons to any Georgian patrol. (to KIRILL, angrily screaming) Turn that off!

KIRILL: (smugly) Why? Do you not think it is funny that they have been changing their message for the past two years? They are getting desperate. The first time they played this message over the airwaves they stated that we would have to denounce our loyalty to mother Russia. Now they only ask for our weapons!

PETR: (whispering) Do you not understand that Georgy’s urge to return home grows everyday and that if he hears this it will be almost impossible for us to keep him here.

KIRILL: (turning off radio, reluctantly) You make a valid point. I can not afford to lose another member. The final stage of Operation Molot is in motion and the RTF will need every man they have to crush the Georgian and Chinese forces. KIRILL catches sight of lights in the

distance. A Georgian HMMWV drives towards the HAMAZ military truck. (to PETR) Look what we have here.

PETR: (noticing the HMMWV) Just do not do anything stupid.

KIRILL: (sarcastically) Oh do not worry comrade, I will not. As the HMMWV passes, KIRILL waves to the driver, who returns the gesture. PETR focuses his attention on the back seat of the HMMWV and notices a man with his head down. He recognizes the insignia on his shoulder and realizes that the man is not a Georgian or Chinese soldier. He waits until the vehicle is out of sight and looks over at KIRILL. (to KIRILL, shouting) Stop the truck!

KIRILL: (confused) Why would I do that?

PETR: (yelling) The man in the back of that humvee was a British soldier!

KIRILL: (slamming on the brakes) British? PAVEL, who has been asleep the entire time is flung onto the floor of the truck and is immediately woken up. GEORGY, who has been awake and listening the entire time, is able to brace himself.

PAVEL: (dazed and confused) What is going on? GEORGY: (helping PAVEL up) There is a change in plans.

PAVEL: (“shaking out” his left hand) We are not searching for Ivananymore? PETR, upon hearing this moves to the back of the truck. KIRILL has also exited the vehicle and has begun smoking a cigar outside the rear of the truck.

PETR: (reassuringly) Do not worry Pavel; we will never stop searching for Ivan. We will find him, dead or alive.

KIRILL: (entering the conversation) Ivanwill be fine, Pavel. He is more than capable of taking care of himself. (to PETR) Now about this British soldier?

PETR: (addressing everyone) I tell you I saw a British soldier, SAS I believe, in the back of that Georgian humvee.

GEORGY: (to PETR) SAS? I had though that Britain pulled out all troops after the Georgian and Chinese militaries took control of our government. This does not seem . . .

KIRILL: (interrupting) I had thought so too, Georgy. However, I trust Petr’s instincts and believe we should go hunting. If indeed the SAS are involved it is imperative that we find this man before the Georgian military kill him. With the SAS as our ally, we will crush Chinese and Georgian rule.

PETR: (to KIRILL) The only question is, where do we start hunting? That humvee is long gone now, and we must not forget that finding Ivan is our main objective.

PAVEL: (to KIRILL) There must be something on the radio about this prisoner, if indeed there is a prisoner. I can translate if need be.

KIRILL: (to PAVEL) Good. Let us see what the Georgians are saying. KIRILL and PAVEL return to the front of the truck and begin searching for any information on the radio. PETR and GEORGY remain at the rear of the vehicle, keeping watch for any Georgian or Chinese patrols.

GEORGY: (moving towards PETR, pointing to the road) Georgian patrol.

PETR: (noticing lights in the distance) Follow my lead. A Georgian jeep pulls up to the stopped truck. Three men step out of the vehicle: two are armed with AK-47s, while the other is armed with an RPD. All three are wearing Georgian military uniforms. Another soldier remains in the jeep and appears unarmed. He is Chinese and is wearing the traditional Chinese military uniform. Before PETR or GEORGY can speak, PAVEL appears from the side of the truck.

PAVEL: (speaking Georgian, to the Georgian armed with the RPD) What seems to be the problem? Before the soldier can answer a red blot appears on his chest. He slumps to the ground and a red puddle seeps out from under him. The other soldiers aim their AK-47s at PAVEL but before they can fire PETR whips out a pistol and shoots both in the head. The driver of the vehicle looks up and looks around. He is immediately shot and killed. KIRILL appears from the back of the truck, holding a silenced AK-47. PAVEL walks over to the fallen Georgian soldiers and grabs all of their ammunition cartridges. KIRILL ushers PAVEL, GEORGY, and PETR towards the truck.

KIRILL: (yelling) Let’s move it! They are keeping our British comrade in a small military base in Smolensk.

ACT I Scene 2

A small military base in Smolensk, Russia. A KAMAZ-5350 6x6 military truck is parked just outside the main road that leads directly to the entrance of the base. The base is illuminated by multiple light posts. Looking through binoculars is KIRILL. He notices two sniper towers

and a guard house protecting the entrance. He puts down the binoculars and enters the back of the truck where PAVEL, GEORGY, and PETR and sitting quietly. They are all equipped with silent weapons, PAVEL with a silenced AK-74u and GEORGY and PETR with silenced AK-47s. PAVEL tosses a silenced AK-47 to KIRILL, who takes an ammo cartridge from his pocket and loads the rifle. He then enters the back of the truck.

KIRILL: (speaking in a low voice) Listen up. We are going in hot and heavy. Once we enter the compound we smoke it out. We move away from the center of the base and head towards the detention center. Once we make the extraction we exit quickly. We will have to find another mode of transportation from the facility as returning to the truck is not an option. Eliminate any enemies in your path and if anyone gets injured, leave them behind. We must waste no time! Ivan is still out there! KIRILL exits the back of the truck and enters the driver seat of the vehicle. PETR sits in the passenger’s seat and GEORGY and PAVEL remain in the back. KIRILL drivers up to the guard house at the entrance of the compound. The guard stops them and begins speaking in Georgian.

PETR: (to PAVEL) What is he saying? PAVEL: (to KIRILL) He wants to see your identification.

KIRILL: (mumbling to himself) I will show him my identification. KIRILL sticks his AK-47 out of the truck window and guns down the Georgian soldier. He slams his foot on the gas and smashes through the entrance of the facility, a metal fence. He stops the truck in the middle of the military base. (yelling) Smoke it! Head for that garage to our left! KIRILL and PETR drop smoke grenades out of their windows. PAVEL and GEORGY throw smoke grenades from the

back of the truck. A huge circle of smoke engulfs the truck and the surrounding area. An alarm blares through the facilities sound system. Georgian soldiers rush to the truck and surround it, pointing their RPDs and AK-47s directly at the vehicle. They begin shooting at the truck. The smoke clears and two soldiers search the vehicle. They shout in Georgian that “There is no one inside!” The RTF squadron is hiding behind another truck in a garage.

PAVEL: (trying to catch his breath) Well, that was not too bad. PETR, GEORGY, and KIRILL turn their heads and give him icy stares.

KIRILL: (quietly) Let’s move. We have to find the detention center. They begin a building to building search. On their way to the first building, a group of Georgian soldiers spot them and begin firing at them. They dash behind of pile of boxes and return fire. PETR hits three soldiers in the shoulder.

GEORGY: (screaming) Grenade! A Georgian soldier throws a grenade and it lands at GEORGY’s feet. He quickly picks it up and heaves it back towards the enemy. The grenade explodes and four Georgians fly into the air. PAVEL is grazed by a bullet in the shoulder. GEORGY and PETR keep up a steady rate of fire and hit numerous Georgians. However, the entire facility knows where they are and a steady stream of soldiers flow into the combat zone. KIRILL puts his head down, holds the cross around his neck, and prays. He lifts his head up and peers over his shoulder and notices a small building with a sign hanging on its door.

KIRILL: (to PAVEL) What does that sign say?

PAVEL: (squinting at sign, surprised) Well, what do you know? I believe it reads “detention center.” PAVEL is grazed by another bullet in the shoulder. He falls to the ground, but KIRILL pulls him up. PETR and GEORGY throw two grenades at the Georgians. The grenades explode and multiple soldiers are sent flying.

KIRILL: (yelling) Petr! Georgy! The detention center is behind us! Let’s move! PETR and GEORGY fire a few more shots, killing two more Georgians. As the squadron sprints towards the detention center, a BTR-80 rolls into the combat zone behind them. The turret begins to fire at the pile of crates the squadron was just fighting behind. The bullets shatter the crates and a mass of wooden splinters shoot into the sky. It continues firing in their general direction, but the squadron has slipped into the detention center. The Georgian forces move towards the building and multiple armored vehicles appear in the area.

PETR: (to KIRILL) Make this quick. KIRILL moves through a door. Inside a startled Georgian soldier, sitting behind a desk, reaches for his gun. KIRILL quickly pulls out his Makarov PM pistol and kills the Georgian. He takes the keys from the dead body and begins searching the cells. A door opens to his left and two Chinese soldiers move into the room and point their guns at KIRILL, who immediately stops. GEORGY charges into the room and guns down the soldiers with his AK-47. KIRILL resumes his search and comes across the British soldier, who is dressed in a white t-shirt and camouflage pants. His body is heavily bruised and his face is bloody. He has been tortured. KIRILL thrusts open the cell door and puts the British troop over his shoulder and motions for GEORGY to search the back room.

GEORGY: (returning from the back room) Kirill, there is an exit! GEORGY goes out the door and retrieves PAVEL and PETR. The three of them open the back door and find themselves in a back alley of the base. They look to their right and PETR notices the same humvee he saw earlier.

PETR: (to KIRILL, who has just exited the detention center) Kirill, there’s our way out of this hell-hole. PETR points to the humvee and KIRILL sprints towards it. He opens the back door and places the wounded soldier in the seat. The rest of the squadron follows him. KIRILL opens the front door and starts the humvee. PETR hops into the passenger seat and PAVEL slides into the back seat. GEORGY mans the turret. KIRILL quickly makes a sharp left and speeds down the road looking for an exit. Twenty Georgian and Chinese soldiers walk out in front of them. GEORGY begins firing the turret, mowing down the soldiers. KIRILL does not let off the gas and runs over a Georgian. KIRILL spots an exit, but notices it is between two sniper towers.

KIRILL: (sticking his head out of the window and shouting up to Georgy) Georgy, two snipers! Take cover! GEORGY sinks as low as he can inside the turret and takes cover next to a metal plate. KIRILL slams his foot on the gas and shoots towards the exit. The snipers spot the speeding humvee and begin firing. One manages to hit GEORGY, but only in the ankle. Inside the humvee the British soldier is coming to his senses.

COOPER: (coughing) Who are you?

PETR: (reassuringly) We are part of the Russian Tactical Forces. This is the humvee you were transported in. We rescued you from that military base.

COOPER: (stronger)I’m sorry but I think you got the wrong chap. There was another guy there, but he was relocated, just hours before you arrived. I think he was Russian. They transported him to a village near Tula, just southeast of here. COOPER is unable to continue and falls back into a deep sleep.

PETR: (to KIRILL) Ivan! KIRILL speeds up and drives down the road. A light snow begins to fall.

ACT I Scene 3

A snow covered field, right outside a small village in Tula, Russia. It is early morning and the sun is shining brightly. The snowfall has stopped and the wind is not blowing. PETR has started a fire and PAVEL and GEORGY are sitting around it. GEORGY’s ankle has a bandage wrapped around it and PAVEL has two shoulder bandages below his clothing. A pot is boiling over the flames. PAVEL is already eating potatoes, which have been recently boiled. He is drinking straight from a vodka bottle. GEORGY is cooking beetroot to make borscht. He too

has a boiled potato and is using a hunting knife to slice it into smaller pieces. PETR is standing a short distance away from the fire staring off into the distance. KIRILL is with him. They are both drinking water from canteens. KIRILL puts the cap back on his and walks towards a figure laying on the ground, next to the fire. It is Samuel COOPER. He is sleeping on two large Alice packs and is using PAVEL’s medic kit for a pillow. He is still wearing his camouflage pants, but over his white t-shirt is a blue reed pattern jacket.

KIRILL: (shaking COOPER) Wake up, comrade. You should have something to eat before we rescue Ivan.

COOPER: (wearily, to KIRILL) Are you daft? It’s too bloody early.

KIRILL: (getting irritated) God gives to those who get up early. Besides, you do not want to miss Georgy’s homemade borscht. It is the pride of Russia! GEORGY: (overhearing the conversation) I would not call it the pride of Russia, it is only soup. Kirill . . .

COOPER: (jumping up) Soup! That is all I needed to hear. I have not had any grub! COOPER and KIRILL both walk over and begin devouring GEORGY’s borscht. PETR returns and also has a bowl. PAVEL sticks to his potatoes and vodka, but KIRILL grabs the bottle and takes a swig. After the meal, COOPER lays back and pulls out a picture of his family.

COOPER: (to GEORGY) That soup was the bees’ knees!

PETR: (to COOPER) I take it you are apart of the British military.

COOPER: (to PETR) An excellent assumption. I am Samuel Cooper, an officer of the 22 SAS. I came to Russia with about one thousandother troops. However, my regiment missed the landing zone and found ourselves in unknown territory. That is where the hard lines started. Our convoy stalled due to engine trouble, but instead of leaving the vehicle behind, we stopped to take care of the problem, a bit of a cock up on our part. We were ambushed by Georgians, some of which were armed with RPGs which completely obliterated our convoy. The last thing I remember was taking a bullet in the shoulder and blacking out. Then I found myself in a holding cell. In the cell next to me was a Russian chap. They transported him out a few hours before you arrived.

PAVEL: (to COOPER) Do not worry, we have found the village where they are holding him. It is just over that hill. We will be moving in soon. PAVEL tosses him a Makarov PM pistol. COOPER catches it and puts it in his pocket.

KIRILL: (to PAVEL) We are moving in now. Petr has just informed me that the Georgian and Chinese forces are rounding up the villagers and beginning to execute them. Georgy, put out the fire, and pack up. Pavel, go get Petr and tell him we are moving out. Cooper, follow me. KIRILL and COOPER start the trek to the village. Shortly after, they are followed by PAVEL, GEORGY, and PETR. All have their weapons out and loaded. They reach the southern end of the village. Entering the village, they hear the Georgian and Chinese forces yelling at the villagers and rounding them up in the center of the village. They hear gunshots and see villagers

fall to the ground. They hear the screams of the remaining villagers. It is too much for KIRILL to bear.

KIRILL: (to PETR and COOPER) You two, go help the villagers in any way you can. I will take Georgy and Pavel and begin looking for Ivan. God be with you. PETR and COOPER separate themselves from the group. They silently move behind two guards and slip past them.

COOPER: (whispering) You did not want to kill them.

PETR: (quietly) I am not about to become a cold-blooded killer. My father and mother taught me better than that. I will only kill an enemy when they threaten me or my family. These villagers, they are my family. If those men attempt to hurt them I will put them down. Kirill, on the other hand, is not like that. He will kill any enemy he sees. He lost his entire family: parents, wife, and children when the Chinese leveled Omsk. He is filled with hatred of the Georgians and Chinese. PETR and COOPER move behind the soldiers executing the villagers. PETR gives COOPER a nod and both come out and begin shooting. COOPER shows his excellent aim by killing multiple soldiers. PETR does the same. After dispatching of the group PETR warns the citizens to return home and lock their doors. COOPER and PETR begin searching for IVAN. The first building they search is empty. Inside the second building they find a Georgian soldier watching TV. He jumps up when he sees them, but COOPER shoots him in the chest. PETR notices in the corner a SVD sniper rifle. He retrieves it and they continue theirsearch. In the third building they discover IVAN. He is bound in a chair and is badly bruised. His shoulder is badly bleeding.

IVAN: (looking up) Petr! It is about damn time you showed up.

PETR: (smiling) Better late than never. PETR and COOPER both untie IVAN from the chair. PETR hands IVAN his SVD rifle and they embrace each other. All three of the men hear noise in the village center. They exit the building and see KIRILL, PAVEL, and GEORGY leading a column of Georgian and Chinese soldiers.

KIRILL: (to IVAN) Ivan! I am glad to see that you are still in one piece. KIRILL kicks one of the men in the shin. The man buckles to the ground. KIRILL puts a gun to his head.

PETR: (shouting at KIRILL) A man should not be struck when he is down! PETR rushes towards KIRILL, but is too late. KIRILL shoots the man in the head. He kills four other soldiers before PETR reaches him.

KIRILL: (pointing the gun at PETR) Move back comrade or I will shoot you myself. PETR reluctantly agrees. He turns his head as KIRILL puts the gun to the final prisoner’s head. The prisoner yells something in Georgian.

PAVEL: (to KIRILL) He says, “what will you do when you reach Moscow and find it filled to the brim with Georgian and Chinese tanks and soldiers?”

KIRILL: (looking down at the Georgian man) We will bury you. KIRILL pulls the trigger and the man’s lifeless body slumps to the ground.

ACT I Scene 4

Inside of Moscow, Russia. PAVEL, KIRILL, PETR, GEORGY, IVAN, and COOPER are taking cover in an abandoned building near the Moscow Kremlin. A Chinese sniper lies face down behind him with a bullet hole in his temple. IVAN is looking through the scope of his sniper at the entrance of the Kremlin. KIRILL is looking through his binoculars at the columns of enemy soldiers moving back and forth between the building his squadron is in and the Moscow Kremlin. PAVEL is enjoying a bottle of vodka. GEORGY is looking at his golden locket and COOPER is gazing over the picture of his family. PETR is lying on the ground keeping the sight of his gun on the door. Below them multiple columns of men are marching in formation and two tanks roll by. It is midday and a steady snowfall has begun. A strong wind is blowing.

COOPER: (to GEORGY) My, the weather is parky today!

GEORGY: (to COOPER) The weather should be the least of your worries. We have no idea how we are going to infiltrate the Kremlin.

KIRILL: (to PETR) What we need is a distraction! KIRILL goes over the window and picks up the sniper’s RPG. He hands it to IVAN.

IVAN: (taken aback, to KIRILL) What? You expect me to go gallivanting through the streets and fire off a lone rocket? You are one crazy Russian! COOPER takes the RPG from IVAN’s hands.

COOPER: (to KIRILL) I will do it. You advance on the left side of the Kremlin. I will hit the tank the next time it comes around. Do not worry about me chaps, I will be quite alright.

KIRILL: (to COOPER) If that is what you want, so be it. KIRILL, IVAN, PETR, GEORGRY, and PAVEL move from the abandoned building and advance to the Kremlin. A tank approaches from the right. COOPER, who has relocated to the first floor aims the rocket at the tank’s backside as it passes. COOPER fires the RPG. The tank explodes into a mass of flames. COOPER rushes across the street towards the squadron. The guard at the entrance sprints towards the tank. The squadron and COOPER slip by and enter the Kremlin. Once inside they are met by a dozen Georgian and Chinese soldiers. They slide behind two desks and a fire fight ensues. COOPER is able to down one soldier with a head shot. The rest of squadron receives heavy fire and spends most of their time hiding behind the desks.

KIRILL: (pulling out a long hunting knife) It is time we settle this the Russian way!

COOPER: (to KIRILL) Bloody hell! What a knife!

KIRILL: (smiling, to COOPER) All are not cooks that walk with long knives. KIRILL crouches low and steps out in front of the desk. PETR, upon seeing this stands up and forces the Georgians and Chinese behind their cover. KIRILL has pulled out his Makarov PM pistol as well. The first soldier he encounters he thrusts his knife into his chest. He guns down the next three with his pistol. The rest have been shot by the squadron through the cracks of their cover. The Russians and COOPER regroup and advance to the second floor, towards the President’s Office. They are met by a strong resistance, forcing them to hide in the many rooms located in the hall. IVAN is grazed in the foot by a bullet forcing him to pull back. Five Georgian soldiers advance to the room he has taken cover in. The first soldier that enters the room is armed with an RPD. Upon entering, IVAN rips the gun out of his hands and blasts a hole through his chest. The rest channel in and it is like shooting fish in a barrel. IVAN leaves his room and shoots down the hall, either injuring or killing the soldiers present. He makes it to the room that KIRILL has taken cover in. PETR, GEORGY, and PAVEL have all begun to advance. A second wave of Chinese soldiers appears.

PETR: (shouting, to KIRILL) We can not keep this up for long! Pavel, Georgy, and Iare running low on ammunition! KIRILL throws a flash bang in the hall. It stuns a number of Chinese soldiers. He sprints out of the room and begins firing at the stunned troops. Bullets whiz by him. One hits in the leg, another in the shoulder. He chucks a grenade and steps into a room. The grenade explodes and Chinese men are sent flying. The remaining members of the squadron advance on the President’s Office. They kick down the doors and gun down the bodyguards of Anzori Ramishvili, the commander of the Georgian and Chinese forces in Russia. He attempts to

escape, but is dragged down by PETR and then gagged. KIRILL enters the room, blood flowing from his left leg and right shoulder.

KIRILL: (looking down on Ramishvili)General Ramishvili, is there anything you would like to say? The general attempts to talk, but the cloth in his mouth prevents him from being understood. No! There is nothing you can say that will make me forget what you have already said. There is nothing that you can do that will atone for what you have already done. You have leveled our cities, killed our families, our wives, our children. You have tortured our men, my comrades. You have made unwise actions and now you will be held responsible. As you have made your bed, so you will sleep. KIRILL places his pistol on the general’s head. He pulls the trigger. The general sleeps.
