“Prom Revisited” ~ April 25th Similar to last year’s “Thrift Shop Formal”, our MOPS group will be hosting an evening of food and fun called “Prom Revisited” on Saturday, April 25th. For $15 a person, you and your husband can enjoy a delicious dinner and a fun evening while your little ones are being entertained by our mopettes staff. Appropriate attire for the evening would be a tacky prom dress or mismatched formalwear. So mark your calendar and start looking for that perfect (eighties!) prom dress! Reservations will begin in April. Paul & Carrie Reeck at Last Year’s Thrift Shop Formal

Joy and gratitude are like twins. They go together. A heart of gratitude brings a joyful spirit. A joyful spirit results in a life of gratitude. ~ Charles R. Swindoll

The Concession Stand ~ Playgroup Granola Bars           

2 cups rolled oats 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup wheat germ 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup raisins (optional) 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup honey 1 egg, beaten 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Generously grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, cinnamon, flour, raisins and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in the honey, egg, oil and vanilla. Mix well using your hands. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, or they will be too hard to cut.

Cheaper than buying granola bars for each individual child! Page 3

Meeting Notes

The Golden Ticket Children Learn What They Live If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn. If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight. If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy. If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty. If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient. If a child lives with encouragement, he learns confidence. If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate. If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice. If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith. If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself. If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, he learns to find love in the world.
