MOLECULAR GENETICS Genetics: The branch of biology that deals with the principles of hereditary and transfer of characters from parents to offsprings. Molecular Genetics: The branch of biology and genetics that deals with the structure and function of genes at molecular level. Genetic material is known as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and Ribonucleic acid (RNA) plays a important role in the composition of living organisms. DNA is present in the nucleus of all cells. RNA is present in the cells and viruses. Importance of molecular genetics: Molecular genetics helps to understand that how the molecules that make up the cells determine the behaviour of living organisms. These approaches include a wide variety of processes like transcription and translation, the function of visual and olfactory systems, nature of genetic material in populations and how that affect the evolution among others. In molecular genetics we study about forming new transgenic mouse models of human prostate cancer. We study about the regulation of brain development and metabolism. These studies are expected to contribute to the prevention of neural tube birth defects and the treatment of stroke. We study the role of proteasome mediated protein degradation in

transcription and the regulation of gene expression in eukaryotes. We study the role of protein post-translational advancements in nuclear signaling pathways. We study the molecular and genetic regulation of tumor-induced immunosuppressive cells. There are different techniques that studied in the molecular genetics including the gene amplification , polymerase chain reaction , cloning of DNA, separation and detection techniques and isolation of DNA and mRNA. The Human Genome Project is a molecular genetics project and it has six goals.  Identification of 20 – 25000 genes in human DNA.  Determined the sequences of base pairs in human DNA.  Stored all the information into databases.  Improved the tools used for data analysis.  Transferring technologies to private sectors.  Addressing the ethical, legal, and social issues that may arise from the projects. Molecular Genetics has applications in many fields, including human biology, medicine, selective breeding of crops, domestic animals and study of harmful and beneficial microbes.

Molecular genetics helps to bear many diseases. Molecular genetics has a central role in modern biology and its impact on the human life will continue to increase because that include the study of heredity. There are the few discoveries of molecular genetics that includes the molecular medicine, energy sources and environmental applications, DNA forensics, and livestock breeding are the benefits that molecular genetics provide. An essential aspect of molecular genetics is the use of in vitro genetic research tools to explore function structure regulation and expression of genetic material. Molecular geneticts work in many in medical facilities, research institutes, in industry , agriculture and forestry. Molecular genetics work in many different fields that’s why molecular genetics play a very important role in the scientific study of living organisms.

Assalam Alaikum….. My name is Iqra. My Father name is Muhammad Sadiq. I am from Faisalabad. My Father is a Business Man and my Mother is a housewife. I have done my Matriculation from Divisional Public School (DPS) and I secured 967/1050 marks in matriculation examination. I have done my FSc from Divisional Public College (DPC) and I secured 941/1100 marks in FSc examination. Now I am doing BSc. Hons in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (HND) from University of Agriculture Faisalabad. I have done my first semester and got 3.82 GPA in first semester. The second semester has been started. My hobbies are book reading and internet using. I have many positive and negative aspects in my personality. The positive aspect of my personality is that I am a hardworking girl and negative aspect of my personality is i have little confidence. My aim was to become a well known doctor but unfortunately I could not get admission in MBBS that’s why I get admission in this degree of (HND) because this degree belongs to a medical field. This degree means a lot to me.

Now I want to become a good nutritionist in future. I want to get a gold medal in this degree and In shaa allah I will work very hard to get distinction….. That’s all about me…..Thanks…..
