A heartfelt congratulations of SALAKNIB family for having successfully finished the challenges of Jail Basic Recruit Course. To the JNTI Director, Commandant of students and all the training staffs, thank you molding us, trained us and developed

us to become a disciplined,

effective and

professional jail officers. To SJO3 Lani C. Orlain and JOI Nilo G. Bacasnot, thank you for all the guidance and support. You stand as our father and mother in this training institution, the SALAKNIB were very proud of you. To Maam Orlain masakit man para sa amin ang pag-alis mo, masaya pa rin dahil nagging parte ka ng JBRC Class 134. To maam and sir as we learned this training institution the knowledge and disciplined you impart us will lead us to become a productive and disciplined jail officer. To JBRC Class 134 classmates, despite of all the challenges that we had, despite of the clashes we had in our class because of our individual differences, all I can say is “YES WE DID”. Now its time for us to prove our individual worth in the government service. I’m hoping that the knowledge and

education we gained in their training institution will put into practice. Face our every task with confidence and dignity. My Kudos to JBRC CLASS 134, “SALAKNIB”.

JO1/T ANGELES C CLEMOR Class Marcher

My warmest congratulations, JBRC Class 134-08. You

have

successfully

completed

the

4-months

training requisite to become full-pledged Jail Officer. The challenged lies in not just emerging strong and tough but more importantly, into emerging as victorious as a soldier fresh from a battle, bleeding with passion and scarred with idealism. Be the agent of change the society longs and be the bearer of hope the country needs. Good luck and God bless to what awaits in the outside world.

This institution had equipped you with almost everything that you needed to deal with your duties and responsibilities as uniformed personnel of BJMP. May you continue to show professionalism and excellence

“134, harap hating kanan rap! Squat thrust position move.” May these famous lines remind you always of the values of discipline I am trying to instill on you, however infamous it is. The training is over, the real world awaits. May you always strive to excel in everything that you do. To care where it is difficult to care, to love where it is almost impossible to love and most especially to have self-discipline where temptations have its abundance. Good luck and congratulations!

“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge but he who hates correction is stupid,” Proverbs 12:1. May you always be reminded of the values of discipline and loyalty that the training institution is trying to inculcate in your mind. As I keep on instilling in your heart, the path to righteousness is as narrow as the road that leads to heaven, yet one should not loose sight of what is ideal. As fresh graduates, you are bringing with you the training institution’s name and honor. May you contribute

for

the

Bureau’s

improvement

in

delivering services to our clientele. Above all, in whatever you do, do it as if you’re doing it for God. Congratulations and God bless.

We teach you the principles you show the world outside what it is that we taught you. The knowledge and guidelines are just mere tools

to

efficiently

do

your

job

as

uniformed

personnel, but to become efficient and effective, one need to also develop the strength of character that is innate in each of us. May you discover this innate potential within you. Good luck and God Bless. Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS! At last, your days as JO1 trainees were over. No more ‘mase-mase’, modified jumping jack, road runs, reveille, ten-counts and other JNTI trademarks. Keep in mind that whatever you’ve learned in this training center will serve as your foundation in your journey as a public servant.

Four months are

not enough, always strive to improve yourself. I will be happy to see you wearing the rank of inspectors, or even higher, someday. Aim for that; focus. You always have a choice, choose to do things which would help you, your family, your unit, the BJMP organization as a whole, and eventually, the Philippines. And in choosing, always be brave to face the consequences of your actions. Again, my warmest greetings! God Bless. Enjoy life. AD ASTRA PER ASTRA!

(To the stars though difficulties) J/INSP LUCKY O DIONISIO Chief Tactics

Thinking of our four months training here in JNTI is just a glimpse of a day wherein we surpass the reality of being a trainee, the duck walk position, modified jumping jack, the morning and afternoon SOP’s. Looking back to those moments we perform it with hurt in mind to our AI’s just because we are tired and hungry nit knowing that those ‘mase-mase’ his its own very purpose, “to mold us as a one family with a common goal.” To my fellow classmates thank you for your full support and cooperation, without you we can’t stand as a whole. To the JNTI family, our senior and junior tactical NCJO, Maam Lani C. Orlain and Sir Nilo G. Bacasnot, we treasure your teachings and serve as a guide in performing our duties and responsibilities. Lastly, I thank for our Almighty God for the continuous

blessings

and

protection

showered to us during our stay here in JNTI. ‘Matago-tago tako.”

“Two roads diverged in a wood, And sorry I could not travel both; And be one traveler long I stood…” “I shall be telling this with a sigh, Somewhere ages and ages hence, Two roads diverged in the yellow woods, And I, I took the one less traveled. And that has made all the difference.”

Time has come for us to traverse the road less traveled and yet I could not still find the words that could give justice to how much I value the times I’ve spent with you my dear classmates. Together with the JNTI staffs I thank you all for the precious learning I have gained from you. And, alam nyo ba, ang ginawa, ng bading, sa bakal? JO1 JEZA MAE SARAH C SANCHEZ Editor-in-Chief

And to ALMIGHTY GOD WHO deserves all the praises and glory. Ad majorem de Gloria!

The date was November 11, 2008. The place was JNTI, Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba, Laguna. The event? The Opening Ceremony of JBRC Class 134-08, euphemism for “katayan moments”. It’s wet and drizzling at that moment so not everyone could thoroughly distinguish sweat from tears, but the fear in the eyes in each and every one of us is awfully noticeable. Not a few days later, we were formally introduced to knuckles, knuckle push-up, modified jumping jack, noon SOP, etc. We have also became skilled at eating buko pies in the acad CR, consuming a box of ubeng hopia in ten counts and all those stuffs which as time passes by, yone would discover that the main motivation was less than of satisfying the craving for food, but more of satisfying the craving for thrill and excitement. The class dominated by noisy and wacky Bisayans, took little notice of time. By December 24, we were given some of the privileged which have been taken from us when we were still unrecognized. We are at that moment the newest member of the recognized recruits! What a very pleasant Christmas gift!

But as all of these individuals keep on reminding us, recognition is just the tip of the iceberg.

Privileges entail added

responsibilities and so one must be very cautious in his/her ways and conduct. Amidst the disarrays that afflicted the class, there, transpired a group of people equipped with discipline, tolerance and flexibility. Persons with the ability to stoop down or tiptoe whenever needed while maintaining the vigor and idealism that the training institute has instilled in them. We entered the training institution 50 all in all, 25 males and the rest, females. We would graduate this March 19, 2009 with a total strength of 51. JO1/T Michael Legayada, an upperclass from 130-08, was able to join us in this triumphant event. For the JBRC Class 134-08, the future may be uncertain but tomorrow belongs to those who seize the day. Carpe diem!

My heartfelt greetings and congratulations to you JBRC Class 134-08. Although I wasn’t able to be with you at this moment, my concern and hopes are always with you. May you maintain if not improve the kind of discipline you’ve shown when I was still your adviser. God Bless my dear graduates into what lies ahead.
