Message Letter

National College was started during 1919 by Great visionaries to provide quality education to the rural youths, when the country was under the British rule. Today the College has 14 Departments, accredited at “A” level by NAAC and continues to provide quality education to the weaker section and under privileged students. Tiruchirappalli is one of the great education centers in Tamilnadu. The Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru visited our campus during independence struggle. Former President Shri.R.Venkatraman and Dr.C.Rangarajan, Economic advisor to Prime Minister of India are some of the distinguished alumni of our College. The Physics Department of National College was established in the academic year 1959. Now it offers courses at UG, PG & Research level and the department is celebrating its Golden Jubilee. Our department has made a remarkable progress over a span of 50 years and will be celebrating its GOLDEN JUBILEE during December 20-22, 2009. We have planned to celebrate this memorable event, an important milestone in the growth and development of the department in a fitting manner. On this glorious occasion, we wish to publish a souvenir commemorating the various events and achievements of our department.
