Our Common Humanity in the Information Age Partners Meeting Minutes of Partners Meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 Submitted by Idrissa Mamane Rabiou and Bhaskar Sahrawat Chair Dr. Anderson convened the October 17, 2006 Meeting of Partners at 10:30AM. Updates were provided on last week’s meeting. The change of title for Youth Leader’s Think Tank to Youth Forum was taken into consideration. One page executive summary is due by Wednesday, so that participants and invitees could see their interest in attending and participating in the Forum. On the Peace Dialogue a good moderator is needed. Invite people who have similar interests. Send two paragraphs to the group for the executive summary. The lunch event was discussed, and how climate change and economic development topic is related to the event. The panel went through the list of participants to update new confirmations. The list of different moderators should be considered in order to have a clear idea of who is doing what. The question of handling the panel’s number also arose. And by the time the list of participants is confirmed, four or six panels will be considered. As star power is wanted, people are working to bring famous people in several disciplines and goodwill ambassadors. The settings of the meeting room were discussed depending on how many people will be coming to the event. The suggestion was about three to four hundred people. The invitations should be sent by November the 1st, so that the response to attending the meeting should be made by November 15th.
The management, the DPI, NGO’s and various groups are involved in bring their participants. The “common humanity award” was briefly discussed. Participants want to know how many people are coming to the event. How could we reach as many people and youth as possible; some suggested by electronic distribution which another group sees as if the receiver will not pay much attention to an electronic invitation, unless they are committed to it. After those remarks, Dr. Anderson set the next meeting day as October 25, 2006.
