Tristan et Isolde
Story Summary • Tristan served in King Marc’s court in Cornwall as a knight. • He went to Ireland and proposed Isolde to marry Marc. • Tristan and Isolde fell in love, because of drinking a love portion at the same time. • Isolde, the Princess of Ireland married Marc, the King of Cornwall. • Their affair was discovered and they ran away into the forest.
•They were forgiven by Marc. And Tristan went to Brittany in exile. There, he married another Isolde, the Princess of Brittany. •He went back to Cornwall with his wife. •He was attacked by his enemy and received fatal wounds. •He sent for Isolde the Queen, but his wife kept the news of her arriving out of jealousy. •Tristan died without knowing the person who could cure him was nearby. And Isolde chose to die after him.
