Media Statement Andrew Harrison Resigns Ngāi Tahu Holdings Group has today announced the resignation of its Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Harrison. Interim Chair Linda Constable said “It is with regret that I have today accepted Andrew’s resignation after 6 years with Ngāi Tahu. Andrew’s commitment to the organisation has been exemplary and the performance of the Group under his leadership has been outstanding.” Harrison stated “On reflecting on my time at Ngāi Tahu I’m proud of what the organisation has achieved and my contribution to those achievements, however I have decided it is now time to move on and pursue the next stage of my career.” Harrison joined Ngāi Tahu in 2003 and was instrumental in establishing a number of key tribal distribution initiatives such as the retirement savings programme Whai Rawa and the Ngāi Tahu Fund set up to distribute funding for Ngāi Tahu cultural initiatives. In 2006 he was appointed to head the tribe’s commercial company, Ngāi Tahu Holdings Group and since that time has been focused on improving the operating performance of the businesses and driving focussed growth while strengthening the company’s balance sheet. During this period NTHG has successfully implemented a growth strategy of partnering across all its business areas. This approach includes the joint venture with the Christchurch City Council on the Civic building; the partial sale of the Ngāi Tahu Ryman stake and subsequent co-investment with Tainui Group Holdings and the Seafood partnership with Talleys Group. Ngāi Tahu Holdings Group is responsible for managing the iwi’s investment portfolio of over $600m and has interests in the rural, property, seafood, tourism and healthcare sectors. Ends
