Great Concern “Poverty can result in disbelief” Key Question: Is the Poverty of the affected abused and exploited in the name of aid? Is it legal to condition aid on faith conversion?

UWT Response  Emergency Appeal Launch - Sun 18 Nov  Difficulty in assessment and communication  UWT-MWI Joint Appeal PR – Sat 24 Nov  100K allocated immediately  Aim to raise ½ Million Pounds Phase 1 Initiated Immidiately

Phase 1 

Emergency Relief

Field Report “Within a few days emergency assistance reached 6 villages in 4 districts: Kuacatta, Bamna, Pathagatha & Amtali in the Barguna District, which is the most affected district due to being on the Bay of Bengal coastline, Kuacatta is on the coastline of the Bay of Bengal and has been completely destroyed with thousands homeless.”  “We have managed to reach out to the Sarankhola & Monga villages in Bagerhat District and also to the Pirojpur & Patuakhali Districts. As the death toll rises and more information is filtering through about the numbers of families affected, we continue to urge people to donate generously. The response to this crisis has been great but a lot of work is still left to do to help the Ummah in crisis.” Bangladesh)

Trials & Tribulations Or do you think that you would enter paradise while yet the state of those who have passed away before you has not come upon you; distress and affliction befell them and they were shaken violently, so that the Messenger and those who believed with him said: When will the help of Allah come? Now surely the help of Allah is nigh! They ask you as to what they should spend. Say: Whatever wealth you spend, it is for the parents and the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, and whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it. (Holy Quran, 2:214215)
