To Potential Employer:

I am a third year architecture student in a very competitive 5-year master Architecture program at North Dakota State University. With my ability to be creative, hard working, determined and passionate for all aspects of design, I believe would make a great addition to your already exceptional design team. I have experience designing in many different ways, from poetic expression where the building was an interpretation of a song, or a narrative, to being very site specific for a particular part of a city, to trying to reduce or eliminate the use of fossil fuels and energy the building consumes. These are a few of the projects in which I have created thus far: * Teahouse for the flooded Red river * Boathouse interpreted from a song * Dance studio site specific to downtown Fargo, ND * Dwelling based on material development * Center of Excellence at NDSU for higher education During the making of these projects I have learned how to make beautifully crafted models with very creative and detailed hand drawings to accentuate what the model could not. My work ethic does not stop at school; I am very involved within the NDSU campus along with holding a job as well. I am a proud member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, which has opened my eyes to many leadership opportunities, such as being Philanthropy Coordinator for this sorority and being V.P. recruitment for the National Panhellenic Council. I am also a bartender and waitress at Applebee’s bar and Grill. These other involvements have given me the opportunity to: *Be a leader * Delegate when needed * Be able to ask for help * Manage time * Work with a group of people * Learn how to manage stress * Get things done on a deadline * Multi-task and still have it done to perfection These skills that I have acquired will be long lasting, and help me become a way better designer and team member. I have a hunger for design, a fresh new flare for ideas, and a style all my own. I hope you can recognize my enthusiasm, and passion for design along with my commitment to succeed. If just given the opportunity to just meet with you, I will prove that I am perfect for your firm. I look forward to hearing form you very soon.

Thank you for your time, Melissa Brown
