So how did you guys meet? Nilu: We’ve known each other our whole lives, Coco’s mum cut my mums hair before we were born. Coco: I was invited over to Nilu’s house and we bonded over bunk beds and ball ponds. We watched Inspector Gadget every Saturday morning.

How did you guys come up with the name Coco & Nilu? N: It’s our nicknames tied together really, Coco came from me being unable to pronounce Chloe’s name C: And then Nilu wanted a nickname too. We got Nilu after like 8 hours because her names Niamh Louise. What sort of events do you organize? C: We’re currently doing Nilu’s Super Sweet Sixteenth which will be a public event. N: Yeah I’m excited for that.

What do you guys like to do in your spare time? N: I go online, see my boyfriend, go to gigs, usual teenage stuff really. Read books for 5 year olds and find them amusing. C: I read magazines, shop, play guitar, watch skateboarder films, coursework and buy Rubicon.

Name one interesting fact about yourselves N: I have a weird fascination with llamas. When I’m sitting home alone, I’ll search llama noises on you tube. They make crazy sounds! C: My nickname at nursery was “Toaster” because I was obsessed with the film “The Brave Little Toaster”.

What are your philosophies on life? N: I guess live for the moment is the usual thing, but I agree with it. I don’t see the point in regretting things, they happened and you can’t change them. C: I agree, I like the quote “Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die tomorrow”

Coco’s favourite things

What are your favourite films? N: Once Upon A Forest, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging (Robbie is lush), and Slumdog Millionaire is amazing! Oh and I’m a sucker for Disney. C: City Of God, A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, Jean Luc Godard films,Good Burger, and Wizard Of Oz. Coco, you mentioned in on your video about planning to live in Islington, why is Islington such an interesting area in London? C: It’s just got a lot going on, my mum owns a shop there so I hung out there a lot when I was a kid. They have really cool shops and there’s just a cool vibe there- plus the houses are nice! N: I’d like a house with a red door. Do you prefer vintage designs to high street stores? N: Vintage, defiantly. There’s something about vintage dresses that are just so unique and make you look like something different to teenage girls who look like they’ve been thrown through TopShop and Primark. Having said that, I do love TopShop. C: I like mixing both of them up together, some vintage stores are quite expensive so buying some high street clobber is cheaper and mixing the styles makes you look more individual. What’s your favourite historical era? N: I really wished I lived in the 80’s. I wish I could go out in bright coloured puffer jackets, high waisted jeans, rollerblades and a huge walkman and not get bad looks. C: The 60’s had real good music. Who are your favourite designers? N: I’m obsessed with Juicy Couture. My friend from Hong Kong sent over some for Christmas, I wear it so much! I’d love some Jimmy Choo shoe’s, and D&G, Prada and Chanel are all amazing. Like I said before, Vivenne Westwood is amazing, and I love Luella dresses. C: Marc Jacobs, Luella, Chloe, Alexander Wang and Alexander McQueen. Now that that there is a new president taking over the white house, do you believe that there will be a change in society? C: I think Obama is a really great change for America and hopefully will change society in a positive way. N: Well anyone’s better than Bush and he’s quite dishy.

Nilu’s favourite things

Do you have any fashion and/or musicians icons that you look up to? N: People who find their own way into the world and don’t have people to do it for them, for musicians, they start with nothing and build up a strong fan base. I think that with all these Dancing with Britans Got The X-factor on Ice programs around, it’s too easy. And in fashion, Vivenne Westwood is pure genius. C: David Bowie, Grace Jones, Luella, Francoise Hardy, Ronnie Spector from the Ronettes is re Have you interviewed anyone famous? N: Our interviews are all done by MySpace blogs at the moment, we’ve interviewed “Marvellous Macc Mello” and “Unouomedude” so far. C: We have upcoming interviews with “The Broadcast” and “The Holloways” soon, and we’d love to interview more. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? C: New York, Tokyo, L.A, just because I’ve always wanted to go there and I’ve never had the chance. N: I’d love to go to Tokyo, it looks so exciting and modern! I’ve been to Hong Kong with my school, I’d love to go back there. What type of music do you like? N: I listen to pretty much anything that’s plugged into my ears. I probably listen to indie claptrap more than most things. The Libertines, Babyshambles, The Metros, that sort of thing. I listen to Miley Cyrus. Then smaller bands such as The Broadcast, I’ve listened to them more than anyone else at the moment. C: I like listening to a lot of old music, like Muddy Waters, The Ramones, The Stooges and Velvet Underground. I also listen to The Strokes a lot, and Arctic Monkeys. I like rap groups such as Public Enemy, De La Soul and Jurassic 5. Recently I’ve been listening to Micachu a lot. What are your favourite films? N: Once Upon A Forest, Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging (Robbie is lush), and Slumdog Millionaire is amazing! Oh and I’m a sucker for Disney. From Cinderella to High School Musical. It’s all pure gold. C: City Of God, A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, Stand By Me (love River Phoenix) and Jean Luc Godard films. Oh and Good Burger, Paranoid Park, and the Wizard Of Oz. Where do you see yourself in the next couple of years? N: I actually have no idea. I kind of live for the moment, see where things go when you roll with it. I think Coco & Nilu being quite well known would be nice, if people found our videos funny and thought we were cool, that’s what its about really. C: Hopefully on a bitch of an adventure.
