*We met our goal of 1,000 walking trips for March! This means we earned free dress and the chance to choose Mrs. Battin’s outfit! Please send in your signed Pedestrian Safetly Pledge by Monday. *We have begun our NWEA testing and the class is doing great job staying focused and working hard! We will resume testing next week, so continue to prep your student by sending snacks, talking about the test, and making sure they get enough rest. *In writing, students are learning to provide strong reasons to support their opinion. They are also working to use transition words to connect different parts of their writing. Continue to practice this at home by having your student share an opinion on a topic of your choice in writing – it could be a topic that is trying to convince you of something. *Westlake Charter High School Town Hall: Join us on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:00 PM for a Town Hall meeting about the future Westlake Charter High School. Mr. Eick will share the vision and timeline for the high school, then families will have the opportunity to dream about what is possible for Westlake Charter High School. *Call for Coaches: This spring, we’re launching FUTSAL in our athletics program! Futsal is similar to indoor soccer; games will be played in our gym. We’re looking for adult and high school futsal coaches; please spread the word to help us recruit futsal coaches as well as kickball supporters. Email [email protected] with questions. *Book Fair: Scholastic Book Fair opens Thursday, April 4th and will end Thursday, April 11th. To check out the schedule, click the link in our weekly email. *Friday, April 5th is Culture Day! Students can dress in cultural clothing for our Spirit Day!
