We are beginning our preparations for the celebration of the sacrament of confirmaconfirmation. Parents and candidates should now be registered for our annual time of catachesis. R.C.I.A & ADULT LEARNING OPPORTUNITY: These weekly sessions on the sacra-

ments – their origins in scripture, our history in developing our faith through them and a better understanding of how we celebrate them today, continues this Monday at which time we will continue exploring the Sacraments of Commitment, with a look at Holy Orders. Everyone is most welcome to join us in the church at 7:30 p.m. “CULTIVATING THE SEEDS OF FAITH”: An Adult Faith Formation Program

All parishioners of the Diocese are invited to attend these faith formation sessions on Tuesday evenings from 7– 7–8:30 p.m. This week’s session is at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Hall, Braeside. CHRISM MASS AS PILGRIMAGE: We often speak of Lent as a journey, a pilgrimage. Pilgrimage is an ancient sign of penance and an act of faith and hope. Whether you go to Rome or Lourdes or Jerusalem, or simply to a local shrine or to your cathedral church, a pilgrimage is a simple and powerful way to pray during the Lenten season. The Chrism Mass is an annual liturgy celebrated by our Bishop, assisted by all of the priests of the Diocese, during which he blesses the sacramental oil used throughout the Diocese for the liturgical year. The Bishop invites the faithful of the entire Diocese to celebrate with him in our cathedral for this occasion. This year, the Chrism Mass will at 7:00 p.m. on April 7th. This is a wonderful occasion for us to make a pilgrimage to our Cathedral with family and/or friends to experience the grace of this beautiful celebration.

The 2008 Lottery was once again a success, and netted $8,173.94 for the Parish. We thank every one who helped in any way, those who sold tickets, those who bought tickets, and those who are always ready and willing to respond to our requests for assistance. Your past participation and support is greatly appreciated. We’d also like to welcome Richard Laxton to the Lottery Committee. COOKERY CLASSES: Mary Liz Burnett has kindly agreed to facilitate a class on Asian cooking Thursday evening April 2nd. It will be a handshands-on so you will need to provide a chef’s knife and a cutting board. There will be a minimum of 8 participants but a maximum of 10. Cost: $60 (taxes incl.) per person.
