Important: a front panel that is torn or cut at the silence/ reset switch may cause a continuous audible alarm to be activated. the front panel must be replaced to silence the alarm and prevent over healing of the infant.  perform functional check before each use and recheck daily see skin temp control.  to avoid overheating attach patient prove only to sking surface directly exposed to the warmer. patient probe must be in intimate contact with skin and shielded front heater radiation with a reflective cover for proper skin temperature measurement and control.  never use a rectal probe for control, patient overheating can result. use only air-shields patient probe.  determine the cause of all alarms. check alarms, heater lights, and skin temp setting and reading. note: a timing circuit failure will activate a continuous audible alarm with no visual alarm indication remove from service as soon as possible.

 avoid placement of objects over the infant that can block or absorb heat.  radiant warming increases insensible water loss, take appropiate measures to maintain proper patient fluid balance the use of a plastic cover to reduce insensible water loss increases the risk of failing to detect a loose or detached patient probe.  do not leave infant unattended when side or end panels are down. manual control operating hints.  use only for short term warming with nursing personnel is constant attendance.  do not use warmer if manual indicator does not flash continuously.  after 10 minutes of operation. a 1-second audible alert is activated every 30 seconds. after 5 additional minutes of operation, a continuous audible alarm is activated and the heater is turned off. actuation of the silence/ reset switch any time after the 10 minute alert will provide an additional15 minutes of operation.

 heater output must be adjusted manually to maintain skin temp within desired rango.  check infants skin temperature and condition at least every 15 minutes. when initially setting or when changing heater output, check skin temp more frequently to be sure it is maintained within the desired range. caution: a change in heater output will not result in an immediate change in skin temp. wait for results. large changes in heater output will cause a more rapid change in skin temp and increase the risk of hazardous overshoot or undershoot.  use patient probe to continuously monitor skin temp whenever possible. important: in manual control, the patient probe monitors only- it does not control, and the probe fail and set point alarma are not functional. note: it is not necessary that the patient probe be connected to the controller for manual control. skin temp control.

 USE FOR LONG TERM WARMING AND WHEN ATTENDING PERSONEL CANNOT BE IN CONSTANT ATTENDANCE  PERFORM CAL CHECK WHEN SETTING SKIN TEMP AND RECHECK DAILY  SET SKIN TEMP ONLY  VERIFY THAT SKIN TEMP  SET POINT ALARMS CAN BE MANUALLY SILENCED (MODEL 1 CONTROLLER – LOW SET POINT ONLY). IT WILL ALSO TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE ALARM CONDITION IS CONNECTED. NOTE: AUDIBLE SET POINT ALARM IS AUTOMATICALLY SILENCED FOR 15 MINUTES DURING INITIAL WARMUP  PROBE FAIL AND HIGH TEMPERATURE (39ºC) ALARMS (AND HIGH SET POINT FOR MODEL 1 CONTROLIER) CAN BE MANUALLY SILENCED ONLY AFTER THE ALARM CONDITION IS CONNECTED. NOTE: IN THE EVENT OF A PROBE FAIL ALARM, MANUAL CONTROL CAN BE USED TEMPORARILY UNTIL A REPLACEMENT PATIENT PROBE OR WARMING DEVICE IS AVAILABLE IF NURSING PERSONNEL ARE IN CONSTANT ATTENDANCE. SEE “MANUAL CONTROL”

 COMPARE SKIN TEMP SETTING AND READING TO DETERMINE IF SET POINT ALARM IS FOR HIGH OR LOW SKIN TEMP. VERIFY THAT ALL HEATER LIGHTS ARE OFF DURING HIGH ALARM OR ON DURING LOW ALARM. FUNCTIONAL CHECK PERFORM BEFORE EACH USE AND RECHECK DAULY BY TURNING WARMER OFF, THEN ON. DO NOT USE ID THE FOLLOWING DOES NOT OCCUR IN SEQUENCE: DISREGARD OTHER EXTRANEOUS DISPLAYS OR INDICATIONS WHICH MAY OCCUR WITHIN THIS SEQUENCE.
