Malaysia's Hitler Youth

Malaysia is a country that still shamelessly practises racial supremacist politics and it even has the UMNO Youth behaving and acting as Malaysia's Hitler Youth. Whenever the opposition raises any issue concerning racial or religious discrimination or intolerance within the country, members of the UMNO Youth and its extremist fringe allies such as PEWARIS would take to the streets shouting insults and doing all sorts of provocations, not to mention making direct verbal threats at the opposition people. Worse, there have been occasions where Molotov cocktails were thrown at the houses of minority politicians and innocent ones physically manhandled or assaulted in the streets. All these nonsense have been going on with the full cooperation of the police and with the silent blessings of the senior UMNO leadership. Recently, a member of the opposition received an envelope with a written warning (threatening his personal safety) together with some live bullets. The opposition figure charged in Parliament that the UMNO Youth was behind the act and today thirty or more burly members of the movement tried to encircle the man at the Parliament building. The aggressive UMNO Youth hotheads were seen trying to physically barge in as he exited the building and were seen screaming at him and issuing insults and challenges. This kind of hooliganism at the Parliament building is totally unacceptable and in fact, constitutes criminal trespass and criminal intimidation. A few individuals who happened to be at the scene claimed they were also assaulted by the group. However, there were no arrests. The murder of the Mongolian beauty, Altantuya, is still very fresh in the minds of the public, especially the method that was employed to kill her. She was shot execution-style and then her body was blown up with C4 plastic explosives. The letter containing the live bullets should be taken seriously by the authorities and the actions of the UMNO Youth to put fear on threat victims are totally unacceptable. The authorities need to put a brake on the aggressive behaviours of the UMNO Youth as well as those of the other political parasites if the country still wants to be acknowledged as a civilised and lawful society. There is no point in boasting about how very much the country has progressed, and how civilised Malaysia has become and how good the country's human rights record is, when people constantly live in fear of their physical safety not only because crime is so bad, but also the extreme right-wing fringe has the freedom to do what they want. today, even this very moment. Are we really a civilised nation ?? No, instead Malaysia is a country that would have made Adolf proud.
