Reading Workshop
After reading Stellaluna we discussed the concept of “connection”. Good readers make connections in their mind as they read a book. They “connect” characters, situations, or story events with their own experience, with other books they read or with things they know of in real life. Through guided questions, students were able to make such connections in the very text we had read (see bellow)

Andrei B. connected the word “bat” with what he had learnt at Spelling! He told us that this word has two meanings (the baseball bat or the animal)
