Invitation from President The National Council of Education (NCE), out of which Jadavpur University was born, was formally established in the year 1906. In 1921, Chemical Engineering course was started by NCE, Bengal, the first such course in whole of Asia. Ever since then, the department has a glorious record. It has produced great engineers and thus, contributed immensely to the industry and society in general and country in particular, for the last nine decades. Being the pioneer, this department feels the necessity to bridge the gap between the need of industry and education provided to the budding engineers which has developed because of globalization and fast modern developments in the fields of biotechnology, alternative energy( such as fuel cells), nano technology and also the prevention of environmental pollution has become the central issue. Therefore, we along with the organizing committee of the Reunion under the name of CHEMBridge 2008 have planned to organize a host of technical activities, the details of which are given below. This is for the common benefit of industry, education and society.
