THE ROYAL PALMS HOTEL Near Dr. Madeira Road, Marine Parade, Brighton. United Kingdom.

Feasibility Study

Brighton is a town in the city of Brighton and Hove (formed from the towns of Brighton, Hove, Ports lade and several other villages) which has now been a Commercial Business Development area in East Sussex on the south coast of Great Britain. Transport through roads is the main type of transportation to Brighton from all major cities within England due to the ease created by the Travel & Transport Department of United Kingdom. Although Railways are preferred by many who mainly don’t own a car or they consider railways is safer, fast, comfortable & reliable as compared to road transport. There are three main transports from Brighton preferably Road, Rail & Air transport of which road & rail transport is the frequently used or preferred mode of transport by tourists domestically (Internal tourists).

Road Transport: All major administrative & economic cities like London, Portsmouth, Dover, Hastings, Eastbourne etc. surrounding Brighton are connected through the national highways; one can always use the given routes which run smoothly during peak hours as well. These highways are well equipped with gas stations & malls with food courts, restaurants, bistros etc. at regular intervals. This is the accessibility from London towards Brighton. It takes approximately 4 hours to reach Brighton from the Capital City of London & vice versa covering up to 128 miles. There are two main routes M23 & A23. Suggested routes: 1)

A23

-

71.3miles

-

1 hour

For the above route, one has to start with A23 from London straight through Norbury, Thompton Heath, Waddon, Beddington Coulsden, Hooley & then on Hooley onwards M23 starts with Shipley Bridge, Pease Pottage, Handcross, Hickstead, New Timber, Pyecombe & Patcham which comes in the part Brighton. 2) M23 hour 39mins.

-

54.8 miles

1

The above route starts from Merstham where it crosses through A25 & then goes straight through Pease Pottage, Handcross, Pyecombe, & then Brighton. We encourage people especially athletes & other sportsman participating the 2012 Olympics to use this expressway for its ease to access the capital city. This route is also very efficient for businessmen, families

travelling for weekends or leisure & other activities related to culture & festivals. From Portsmouth to Brighton & vice versa: It takes about 1hour 21minutes to travel from Portsmouth to Brighton & covers around 49 miles through roadways. One has to take M275 & A27 eastwards towards Brighton from Portsmouth. Drive straight through places such as langstone, hambrook, stockbridge, crockerhill, fontwell & mileoak etc. where you will reach northwest Brighton. National Express operates coach services from Pool Valley coach station, near the Palace Pier. Coaches operate to London Victoria, Gatwick Airport, Eastbourne, Helston, Southampton, Exeter, Plymouth, Heathrow Airport, Stansted Airport. The Stagecoach Group (through its Stagecoach South division) operates a frequent service (route 700) westwards along the south coast under the "Coastliner" brand name (Route map) as well as an hourly service 17 from Brighton to Horsham. Bus Rapid Transport System: In 2007, the council approved a Bus Rapid Transport System. The £12 million transport project will cut journey times across Brighton and Hove by up to a third. Two lines will be created with stations at: • Park and Ride, A23 • Preston Park • Brighton Rail Station • Clock Tower One line will then visit: • Royal Pavilion • American Express, Edward Street • Hospital, Eastern Road • Brighton International Arena, Brighton Marina The other will visit:

• Conference Centre/Pier •

i360, Hove Seafront

• King Alfred (A £40 million extension to Shoreham and Newhaven has been pencilled in for 2015).

Rail Transport: Frequent trains operate from Brighton Station. Many Brighton residents commute to work in London and destinations include London Victoria, London Bridge, and Gatwick Airport, with trains continuing to Bedford. The fastest service from London Victoria takes 51 minutes. Lines west and east from Brighton serve stations to Worthing, Portsmouth and Southampton in the west and via Lewes to Newhaven, Eastbourne, Hastings and Ashford, Kent in the east. A wider range of long-distance destinations was served until 2007-08 when rationalization caused the ending of services via Kensington Olympia and Reading and beyond to Milton Keynes, Birmingham and Manchester. Twice-daily services remain, however, on the line west to Bristol. Brighton railway station is the most important station in Sussex, where lines from the north, west and east terminate. Other currently-operating railway Stations in Brighton and Hove are: •

North of Brighton: Preston Park.

West of Brighton: Hove; Aldrington; Portslade; Fishersgate (on the border with West Sussex).

East of Brighton: London Road; Moulsecoomb; Falmer.

The Brighton station provides fast and frequent connections to Gatwick Airport, several London main-line stations, Luton Airport and Bedford and also to Ashford International. Regular services also operate via Bristol to Wales.

Shoreham Airport also known as Brighton City Airport, owned by Albemarle Shoreham Airport Limited following the sale of the airport by Brighton & Hove City Council and Worthing Borough Council in July 2006, is an airport located 1.9 km west of Shoreham-by-Sea at Lancing in the Adur district of West Sussex, England.
