Love : A Chemical Explosion in Our Brain? For many years, scientists have studied that love affects the brain in a lot of ways and a number of areas. This study is conducted by giving a test to measure how love affects the brain. And the result noted that every respondent felt the same feelings in such a same way. However, the study may be contradicted with some of culture in a country. For example, the Fulbe people in northern Cameroon have a thought that men who have a such deeper feelings to a woman are contemptible and be excommunicated by the Fulbe. In contrast, the Indian people assumed that arranged love is necessary and considered that arranged marriages are more important than love marriages. Nowadays, some scientists believed that a romantic love are affected by different ways such as a closely affection, a healthier mate and even by following their noses to choose the best mate. That can supposed to be true because our brain can produced a powerful chemical called as serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter and thought to be a contributor to our feelings of well-being such as appetite, arousal, and even happiness. In order to prove that serotonin can affected love, some scientists examined people who had been in love by measuring their level of serotonin. And the result told that serotonin maybe affected love and mental illness although it is supposed to be difficult to tell apart. Nevertheless, another scientist found that another chemical which called as dopamine may be contributed to affect our feelings too like behavior, emotion, and cognition. According to scientists, this feelings of love declined and is believed can last up to 4 years depend on the bond-linked that has been built. A hormone called oxytocin can be produced and being plentiful if a couple kept a close physical relationship. By doing so, the body can release and produce more of oxytocin hormone and lead to a closer relationship.
