Across the vast Pride Lands, animals moved in great herds, heading for Pride Rock to celebrate the birth of King Mufasa’s son.

Rafiki, the wise old mystic baboon carried the cub to the edge of the rock and held him high, so all the animals could see their future king.

The animals of Mufasa’s kingdom knelt before Simba, their new prince.

Scar did not attend the ceremony.

Mufasa told Simba that everything the light touched was their kingdom.

Mufasa warned Simba that the shadowy place was beyond their borders and that Simba must never go there.

Slyly, Scar asked Simba if Mufasa had told him about the elephant graveyard.

Simba intended to take Nala to the elephant graveyard and prove what a brave lion he was.

The two cubs realized that they really had made it to the elephant graveyard!

They were all in very real danger! Banzai, Shenzi and Ed began to frighten the cubs.

Mufasa warned them to never come near his son again!

Mufasa told Simba that he was very disappointed in him.

The next day, Scar told Simba that Mufasa had a surprise for him.

Mufasa leaped into the gorge and snatched Simba out.

Badly hurt, he tried to climb another cliff. Scar whispered softly to Mufasa, “Long live the king!” Then he let go.

Mufasa was dead. Scar told the cub to runaway and never return!

Simba crept away from the Pride Lands, not knowing where he was going.

Scar returned to Pride Rock. He was the king.

Unable to go any farther, Simba fell to the ground and fainted.

When Simba opened his eyes again a tiny meerkat and a huge warthog were standing over him.

Timon taught Simba a new motto-Hakuna Matata, which means “no worries!”. Simba followed Timon and Pumbaa to their jungle home.

Simba introduced his friends to Nala.

Nala told Simba that everyone thought he was dead. Nala pleaded for Simba to go back and restore the Pride Lands.

“Remember who you are… my son, and the one true king!”

Simba moved swiftly toward Pride Rock.

Simba defied Scar in front of everybody.

Simba proclaimed that the Pride Lands were his kingdom, and called Scar to step down.

Scar sneered at Simba and revealed that this was the way Mufasa had looked, just before Scar had killed him. Simba leapt up toward his uncle.

Simba hurled Scar over the edge of the hill.

Simba roared tiumphantly, and all the animals reacted with great joy.

Simba and Nala watched proudly as Rafiki held up their new cub on the summit of Pride Rock.

Simba is Mufasa’s son. He is a cub. He is the future king. His best friends are Nala, Timon and Pumbaa. He is small. His hair is yellow. He is very brave.

Rafiki is a baboon. He is Mufasa’s friend. He is a mystic wizard.

Mufasa is the Lion King. He is Simba’s father. Mufasa is a big, strong and brave lion.

Timon is a meerkat. He is small and slim. He is not as intelligent as he thinks. Pumbaa is a warthog. He is fat and short. He is more intelligent than he thinks, and more intelligent than Timon. He stinks. They are the perfect couple.
