Science Relationships Valence electrons are electrons in atoms that have the highest energy level. The number of valence electrons in an atom often effects how they chemically bond. The elements of the periodic table all have different stabilities, and they are based on the valence electrons in the atoms. Energy relates to work also, as work is the rate of energy transferred. In order for an object to be in motion, energy must be working on an object. Machines usually work with electromagnetic energy. Machines make work easier, but they don’t make any less work. This is called a mechanical advantage. The formula for mechanical advantage is output force divided by input force. The scientific method is a way for scientists to test a theory. Newton’s laws of motion are explained though the terms. The terms that were listed relate in many ways.
