March 19, 2018 To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Lauren Abro. Ms. Abro was a long-term substitute in my teaching partner’s 3rd grade classroom from November 2017 to February 2018. As she had frequently been requested to sub here at Pembroke this year, she came highly recommended as a long-term guest teacher. My partner’s leave of absence came unexpectedly. Though Ms. Abro had no prior time to prepare, she adjusted to her position very quickly. She showed a strong understanding of the 3rd grade curriculum, and immediately demonstrated confidence in creating engaging and rigorous lesson plans and assessments. Throughout the course of her assignment, Ms. Abro maintained high expectations for all her students. Her ability to hold students accountable, along with her patience and emotional support helped her build a strong rapport with the students and made the transition incredibly smooth for everyone involved. She managed the job with both professionalism and a positive attitude. She is approachable and friendly to staff, parents and students. I have missed working with her on a daily basis.
