Expected Outcomes: Students will be able to recognize different renewable energy solutions (sources) by reading a text and getting the main ideas from it, learning new vocabulary and identifying general and specific information. Students will be able to use words related to energy to solve a scramble game. Resources: markers, printed copy of the text, scramble game. Time

Students will be told about what the lesson is going to be about and what the main objectives are.

“Many scientists believe that there is not a clear solution to the energy problem” This sentence will be written on the board so that the students can recognize some of the structures studied in class previously. This sentence will help to introduce the next subject as well.
Pre-reading: -Previous knowledge.

Students will be asked about what they know regarding energy sources and what they think the text is going to be about in order to activate their previous knowledge.
While-reading: -Vocabulary check; fill in the blanks.

The text will be first read aloud by the teacher in order students can be aware of pronunciation. In this part students will have to look for unknown words in order to check them later on the board.

Explanation of unknown words related to energy.

Then they will be given the opportunity to read the text again in silence in order to get a better comprehension of it and to fill in the blanks with “there is/are” “much/many”.

The text will be read aloud by the students in order to check the fill in the blanks part.
Post-reading -Comprehension check.

Students will be given some comprehension questions about the main ideas of the text to get general and specific information.

Students will be asked to write their answers for the comprehension questions on the board in order to be corrected. Some of them will be evaluated for their work on the exercises with a “summative” grade that at the end of the semester will be another grade.
Scramble (group game)

Students will be divided into 13 groups of 3 students each. Every group will be provided a scramble sheet related to energy, they will have to complete concepts related to energy in order to answer the following question: How does the clothes dry? The first group that solves the scramble game wins.
Summary

All together will make a summary of all what we learned during the lesson, in order to clarify any doubt about the content.
