Lesson Plan U.S. History Early Republic 1. Focus and Review (15 minutes) a. The teacher will start class by handing out vocabulary list #1 b. The teacher will then quickly perform the vocabulary activity #1 i. See Vocabulary List and Activity section 2. Teacher Input (45 minutes) a. The teacher will give a brief introduction to the Early Republic time period using the PowerPoint #8 and #9 b. The teacher will lecture on PowerPoint #8 and #9 3. Guided Practice a. The teacher will help the students when needed while they complete the “Articles of Confederation and Constitution Activity” i. See handout 4. Independent Practice (30 minutes) a. The students will have to finish the “Articles of Confederation Activity” on independently. 5. Closure a. The students will be assigned homework sheet #8 and #9 and will be due first thing the next day. i. See handout b. The students should fully understand the basics of the development of the United States Constitution and the differences between Anti-Federalist and Federalist.
