LESSON Plan for History – Form 1 2008 Group 8 Theme: Investigating The Past Unit : 1.5 Evidence From The Past

Length of Lesson: 2 to 4 periods Sub-Topic :  Historical evidence of the Spread of Islam to Brunei. Two sources of Historical Evidences.

Objectives: Students will be able to: • Explain how Islam spread to Brunei •

Interpreting the evidences contributing to the spread of Islam to Brunei

Follow the instructions during the activities done.

Procedure: Materials:  Explain to students today’s  Classroom map lesson regarding the coming of Islam to Brunei: How Islam reached Brunei and  Internet access What were the evidences that Islam came to Brunei.  Showing Geographical Map and teacher explains that Islam was originated from the Arabs Land. Later Islam travelled from the Arabs Land either using the Silk Road or the Sea Routes by the Arabs traders.  Ask the students to identify the Arabs Land, Silk Road, Sea Routes and Brunei or Po-ni.  Explain the meaning of evidence to students or the students to find the meaning at home using their dictionary.  Explain there were evidences indicating the spreading of Islam to Brunei. 1. Procedure: Students activities – Research Works Materials:  Students are ask to work in pair  Classroom map and doing their research in the ICT.  Teacher gives list of title and websites to students that they can choose. E.g.: Vasco da Gama, Trade Routes like Silk Road or Sea Routes.  Teacher will guide their research based on list of questions that they can use.  Students finding must be submitted in the form of disk Microsoft Words or PowerPoint or other related software.  Recap the lesson the previous and current such as:1. How do we get the evidences on how Islam spread to Brunei 2. Who were responsible in the spreading of Islam to Brunei.
