Ler Resume

Director Ler graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Oklahoma City University in 2003. He has been working in the film line since his school days, directing several corporate videos and assistant producing in a television drama. After his graduation he made his Television directorial debut with The Making of The Maid, a behind-the-scenes featurette about Singaporean movie The Maid. Since then he has been involved in a number of projects as production crew and videographer, culminating in his role as an assistant director and casting director for Wee Li Lin’s feature film Gone Shopping. He is currently working as a freelance director, and has handled an amalgam of projects ranging from corporate videos, commercials, dramas, infotainments, to music videos and short films. Outside of work, Ler is an avid supporter of homegrown music, and is one of the singers for the band Localbarboy. Formed in 2005, the band’s mission is to promote awareness of indie music in Singapore. He is also the creative director for the album artwork, photoshoot, and videos of local band nuance.
