STATEMENT OF MAPLE VALLEY FIRE & LIFE SAFETY AND CHIEF TIM LEMON After fourteen years of service to Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, Fire Chief Timothy Lemon has decided to resign his position so that he and his family can pursue other opportunities in the Pacific Northwest. The Board of Commissioners and staff of Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety thank Chief Lemon for his dedicated service to the community and his nine years of leadership as Fire Chief. “Chief Lemon’s service is greatly appreciated,” said Fire Commissioner Brian McGee. “He has been unwavering in his commitment to high standards and the safety and security of our citizens. I would personally like to thank him for his friendship and leadership. We wish him all the best for the future.” “I was truly honored to serve the people of this community, “ added Lemon . “This area is a great place to live, work and raise a family and I am happy to have played a part in providing these vital services to the residents of Maple Valley and the greater Maple Valley area. I am especially proud to have served with the outstanding people who work hard to provide these essential services to the public. I leave the District excited about my future prospects, and I thank the commissioners for helping make my departure smooth and amicable.” Chief Lemon’s resignation was effective on August 15, 2009. The mission of Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety is to provide quality, cost effective emergency services for the preservation of life and property. These services shall be compatible with the needs of the community and at levels reasonably permitted by publicly approved funding. ‐30‐
