Metaphysics and Epistemology The video is about the discussion of the ties of ethics, metaphysics and epistemology in order to live a just and happy life according to Plato’s concept of justice. A Just society is a happy society. Just individual is a happy individual Just is a kind of harmony with component of society to concept of an individual A Ruler is the mind/wisdom, pertaining to a Philosopher king, that gives direction to military. They are guide by virtual courage to defend the society, artist craft man farmer guided by virtual temperance while mind heart stomach to an individual is harmonized as a whole. We will have social justice guided us through wisdom and temperance. No one will be too greedy. Everything we will work smoothly. No one will get drunk and get into accident. We won’t get sick by eating the wrong kinds of food. Personal justice will lead to personal happiness. As it oppose to the idea. The desires for justice are independent to one another and everything is relative .This exactly what Plato contradicts to. A humor in the sixties is whatever you like is good for you, whatever I like is good for me. “You do your way and I do mine and if by chance we meet then it’s groovy” .To Plato are some things that are absolute and true and other things are no good. What is the absolute right way to guide society? The physical world is filled with transient things. Knowledge in this world is never certain. Knowledge of the ideal, intelligible, rational world is certain knowledge so by contemplating the form ideal of whatever form a horse, tree, dog. But particularly those ideal forms of good such as truth, beauty , justice knowledge, wisdom , courage, temperance we would then approach or perceive these things, and understand how to apply them to our lives. For Plato , the ultimate virtues and form , is the form of the good, for him it’s like the God the center of the universe .When people comprehend the good , meditate, contemplate the good, goodness mean and how to apply to daily life meant and affect the our understanding of all other virtues, Truth, beauty , courage. It helps us understand what it meant to make a justice in society. Once you define your mathematical system, mathematical certainty is possible within the realm of rational knowledge is a basis of certain sense his of world viewed form by absorbing them, we will participate by them and be informed by them. We will learn to live a just happy life so metaphysics and epistemology are all tied in very directly together. When Plato said that there are ideal forms of good that are certain in this world such as justice, knowledge, wisdom, truth, courage. Our profession as nurse upholds these forms to care for the sick, ill and the dying by that we exhibit the ultimate form of good. servitude, temperance and charity. We are the ultimate advocates of the good and we do not tolerate an unjust and inhumane acts. An example will be Florence Nightingale. In first World War, she delivered care for the sick and dying soldiers Those unconditional act of sacrifice left us with a mark that serve a virtual guide to our profession. She set the standard in ethics and attitude relevant for generations to last. The ethical discussion tied to of metaphysics and epistemology quantifying the certainty of the good and assist in living a just and a happy harmonious life. In nursing profession being just one of the many example that shows how these philosophers shaped minds.
