Seizures in mice
The LABORAS system
∇ Seizures occur in mice e.g. after administration of (high dose)
specific drugs, acoustic stimuli, stimulation of eyeballs. ∇ Seizures can be divided in tonic-clonic convulsions, barrel
rolls and “racine scale” seizures. ∇ Tonic-clonic convulsions involve severe muscle contractions
over the whole body. With a barrel roll the animal rolls over the floor along the head-tail axis. The seizures according to the racine scale include the most severe seizures defined as “P4” and “P5”. ∇ Seizures are investigated in epilepsy research and can be
observed as (e.g. cardiovascular) side effects of drugs in development. ∇ Metris’ engineers reached a correlation of >95% for tonic-
clonic, >95% for barrel rolls and >85% for “P4” and “P5” compared with observer registered seizures. For commercial information please contact
