The LABORAS system

∇ Circling or turning behavior can be observed in mice and rats

when the left-right balance in the brain is disturbed. ∇ Such misbalance can be achieved by unilateral injection of

compounds that either stimulate or inhibit certain brain areas, or by unilateral physical lesion. ∇ The number of circles clockwise and/or counter clockwise is a

measure of the misbalance. ∇ This principle is used to find agonists or antagonists for central

neurotransmitter systems. Parameters provided: ∇ Nr. Circles clockwise and counter ∇ ∇ ∇
