Lawrence H. Summers President of Harvard College; Professor of Economics Harvard University Massachusetts Hall Cambridge, MA 02138 Dear President Summers, I am writing to you as a Harvard College graduate (’86) and as CEO of Duravest, Inc. – a publiclytraded holding company & venture fund that focuses on interdisciplinary (convergent) medical technologies. Back in the fall of 1981, my Harvard application essay addressed the importance of interdisciplinary studies as well as my desire to attend Harvard in order to pursue (and advance) such inquiry. It is only natural then that I have strongly supported your efforts to develop interdisciplinary education and research – particularly in the life sciences – and am among those who regret that you will have less of a chance (at Harvard) to further push forward this important agenda. I will be visiting Boston/Cambridge on April 20th and 21st and I would very much look forward to a chance to speak with you about Duravest – its current development and its plans for the future. I’ve enclosed a “two-pager” which provides some highlights of the company and its absolutely world-class medical and scientific advisory boards. Once again, I would be more than happy to discuss Duravest and ways that we can potentially work together to advance this mission of interdisciplinary science and its realization in the market. I will call your office later this week in follow-up.
Best regards,
Enc: Duravest “two-pager”
