Yesterday, 6 June 2009 was the 65th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy. Sixty-five years ago, the Allies launched Operation Overlord with massive naval bombardment and aerial bombings before sending in airborne paratroopers and foot soldiers. Operation Overlord finally liberated Western Europe from the grip of the Wehrmacht and the SS units belonging to Germany after six long years of occupation and mindless violence. Yesterday, political leaders from the victorious Allied side marked the occasion with speeches which could only be said as babbling mindless talk born out of hypocrisy, artificial saccharin-sweetening and eagerness for self-praise. WW2 would not have taken place had the victorious Allies not demanded for their pound of flesh at the end of the 1st world War. But magnanimity was not able to take hold due to the evil and selfish nature of the French, British and American leaders. Germany was severely punished with heavy sanctions (which is still a favourite tool of the West today) and the end result was the rise of Hitler and his almighty war machine. Millions of civilians perished in the war that followed but yesterday, the politicians were not interested in recalling their suffering at all. Instead they were all busily praising the 'bravery' of the Allied soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy sixty-five years ago. Those soldiers were trained to become merciless killers unlike the luckless civilians. Instead of praising soldiers trained and brought up to be efficient killing machines, the politicians should have been lamenting the unnecessary deaths of innocent civilians who were the victims of ruthless and cold-hearted politicians. As such, the speeches made by the likes of Gordon Brown and the others were nothing more than empty words coaxed out of their cold-hearted chests by the natural human urge to obey and practise hypocrisy, to love lacing the occasion with saccharin-induced tendencies and to indulge in self-praise. The politicians who gathered to commemorate the D-Day landings are people who have disregarded totally the painful lessons of history. WW1 would not have happened if the European powers had not been so keen on military and political alliances. The scheming European powers at the time were suspicious of each other and were ever willing to go for each other's throats. This is still the very same picture in the Europe of today. In the late 1930s Germany demanded for away from Czechoslovakia on the excuse by a ethnic German majority. Today the in Kosovo. And nobody is interested in

Sudetenland to be prised that it was inhabited same thing is happening learning from history.

At the end of the war in 1945, Winston Churchill was said to have pushed for more punishment of Germany but the political landscape was now vastly different from that of 1918. The US were becoming aware that there was an army that was not taking

orders from the Allied Supreme Command. Punishing the defeated Germans was not in their best interests. And so the Marshall plan was introduced instead. Europe then became divided into two armed camps, NATO and the Warsaw Pact. The latter has since ceased to exist but NATO is now growing stronger and stronger by the day. It is slowing turning into a military Frankenstein and inevitably threatening to put the security and peace of present-day Europe in total jeopardy. The Western political megalomaniacs have learned nothing from the lessons of history. Countries in Europe are being forced to choose sides just as it was done at the beginning of the twentieth century. There is really no need to make any grand speeches filled with hypocrisy and saccharin-like sweetness. It would be better to learn from the lessons of history and prevent the mistakes of the past from being repeated again. The Western politicians are totally blinded by their eagerness and enthusiasm to partake in hypocrisy and the worshipping of lies and falsehoods and it is therefore not surprising that the world today is so fraught with anger, hatred and mutual suspicion. The Western politicians deserve to go to hell !!! Innocent civilians should be remembered, & not soldiers or human killing machines !!! Gordon Brown can go to hell !!
