WHAT IS A GOOD TEACHER?

In my opinion, a good teacher is the one that besides making the learners learn, also tries to teach good values, by mainly giving the example of them. A good teacher is also about motivating the learners and find the thing, or things, they like the most, therefore he/she will be able to make learning seem more like a game and less like an obligation. Last but not least, a good teacher must be able to integrate every learner to this ‘society’ without making a difference of gender, socio-economic class, ethnic group, etc, but knowing that although every learner has a different background, they can share the same values and interests.

WHY IS THE TEACHER IN THE MOVIE A GOOD TEACHER?

What makes Don Gregorio a good teacher in “La Lengua de las Mariposas”, is the way in which he was able to integrate all the learners and mainly finding what motivates them the most, so that he could make learning a pleasant experience for them, also he demonstrated a great conviction for his values, which is important for his learners, that’s why, for example, Monchowasn’t able to understand why his mother wanted his father to go against his beliefs when the civil war was about to start, which created an inner conflict for him, but in the end Moncho wasn’t able to go against his values thanks to what the teacher had taught him.
