BACK With smaller needles, cast on 85(89-97-105-113-121) sts. Ribbing: Row 1 (RS): K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across. R ow 2: P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 1” from beg, end on RS. Change to larger straight needles and p the next row, dec 17 sts evenly spaced across – 68(72-80-88-96-104) sts. Work even until piece measures 1 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Dec 1 st at each end of next row, then every 1 1/4” 3 times more – 60(64-72-80-88-96) sts. Work even until piece measures 7 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Inc 1 st each end of next row, then every 2” twice more – 66(70-78-86-94-102) sts. Work even until piece measures 13 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes. RIGHT FRONT Work to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping. Dec and inc at side edge at end of RS rows. Bind off for armhole and shoulder on WS rows. Work armhole decs at end of RS rows as sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k4. When armhole measures 1/2(1-1-1 1/2-1 1/2-2)”, end on WS. Buttonhole Row (RS): K6, bind off 2 sts, work to end. Next Row: Purl, casting on 2 sts over sts bound off on previous row. Bind off for neck at beg of RS rows.

SLEEVES With smaller needles, cast on 49 sts. Work even in ribbing same as back for 3”, end on RS. Change to larger straight needles and p the next row, dec 11 sts evenly spaced across – 38 sts. Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves, matching markers. Sew side and sleeve seams. Collar: With RS facing, beg at right front edge, pick up and k175 sts around entire neck edge. Row 1 (RS of collar): P1, * skip 1 st and k the 2nd st, then k the skipped st, p1, rep from * across. Row 2: K1, * skip 1 st and p the 2nd st, then p the skipped st, k1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until collar measures 10 1/2”, end on Row 2. Bind off loosely in ribbing. Lap right front over left front and sew button to RS of left front underneath buttonhole. Left Tie: With crochet hook, join yarn at beg of collar on left front edge and chain for 11”. Fasten off. Right Tie: With crochet hook, join yarn in right side seam on inside of garment 1 1/2” down from sleeve and chain for 11”. Fasten off.
