1st Concrete Pouring for the Foundation of Unit #1 Boiler Building After the excavation and pile head cutting works for the construction of Unit #1 Boiler Building, re-bars were installed for the foundation of that building. The re-bars were installed using standard engineering practice to ensure that structural stability is attained for all parts and equipments. Last October 29, 2008, the first concrete was poured after thorough inspection of the rebar installations and formworks. A large volume of concrete was poured and then water curing was set for 14 days. Along with the curing duration, installation of anchor bolts for the pedestal was done. After the installation, another concrete pouring will be done to include the anchor bolts for Boiler Building #1 foundation. In addition, pile head cutting works for the foundation of Unit #2 Boiler Building has been completed. Structural testing will be done to determine the foundation integrity and stability before concreting preparation works.

Stack, Foundation in Progress The stack is constructed for the purpose of venting hot flue gases or smoke from the boiler of the plant to outside atmosphere. The plant’s stack will have a total height of 110m from the ground elevation, diameter of 8.00m at the bottom and 4.80m at the top. The foundation of the structure is designed to withstand any eventuality of earthquakes, typhoons and other works of nature.
Reinforced concrete bored piles were already installed for the foundation of the stack. Before pile cutting, earthworks such as excavation, hauling and disposal, was done.
After pile cutting, rebar installation will be proceeded and then concrete will be poured for the smokestack foundation.

Truck and Heavy Equipment Washing Facility Last October 2008, the construction of the truck and heavy equipment wash bay was completed. The primary purpose of this facility is to ensure that trucks and other heavy equipments leaving the premises of the construction site will be clean and free from mud. The washing facility helps in maintaining cleanliness not just on the vehicles or trucks themselves but also on the roads where these vehicles will be passing through. This is one of the commitments of the project to
the
public
which

the
environment and the community as part of its major considerations for the construction.
