Article Review:What Makes a Good Scientist? Most, if not all, of the success stories written by scientists who seemed to have accomplished their goals or who have made their discoveries known to the world, would always stress out the importance of being creative and finding the strength and patience to always try and keep taking risks until things are all figured out. Surprisingly, the article of Koichi Tanaka’s journey throughout his career was able to bring about the realization that an outstanding scientist does not only know how to not give up, but to also find the beauty and sense of life throughout the whole process of experimentation and discovery. It is through passion and a strong innovative mindset that a scientist finds his purpose and right path to take. The ability to make a huge change in this world is not just driven by a great deal of knowledge or the constant play of success in every attempt or battle in one’s life, but an imaginative mind and an optimistic character that seeks to find sense in everything that’s taking place, realizing that all of life’s aspects are interconnected, including the values upheld since childhood, the cultural environment where one is nurtured, and the hardships and failures that must be conquered.

The complexity of different equations, mechanisms, systems, and structures involving science and technology will not even be possible if it was not for the human brain and the innovations it could bring forth. It just takes the right thinking and attitude to keep making ideas happen. A good scientist must not only find the hunger for success and development, but also the joy and excitement throughout his whole journey. Only then will discoveries and success seem limitless and achievable.
