Introduction of KOICA

Introduction of KOICA  Established in 1991 - Korean Government’s Official Organization for the Grant Aid and Technical Cooperation Programs

 Objectives 1) Supporting sustainable economic and social development in partner countries 2) Actively participating in the international community's efforts to achieve the MDGs 3) Strengthening humanitarian relief and human security

Introduction of KOICA  Strategic Orientation 1) Implementing a result-based management system that meets the needs of partner countries 2) Integrating Korea's development experience and comparative advantages into development cooperation programs 3) Encouraging CSOs(Civil Society Organizations) and the private sectors to join KOICA’s programs 4) Strengthening monitoring and evaluation 5) Promoting public awareness on Korea’s ODA

Introduction of KOICA  Organization & Staff 1) Headquarters - 1 President, 4 Vice presidents, 6 Departments, 32 Teams 2) Overseas Offices : 29 Countries 30 Offices 3) Staff : 229 regular members, with 20% working in overseas offices

Assistance to Cambodia C. Detailed Results of Performance  Project & Feasibility Study - 12 programs implemented and 8 programs on-going - Health, Infrastructure, Water Resources etc.

 Grant in kind - Primary equipment for various sectors

 Human resource development - more than 1,500 officials trained in Korea - around 200 Korean volunteers and 17 Korean experts dispatched

 NGO support and others - Worked with 16 Korean NGOs and Emergency relief
