SIZE Approximately 8” across (including arms) x 7 1/2” tall (after stuffing)
MATERIALS 1 Hank each BERROCO TOUCHE (50 grs), #7921 Blue Carnation (Blue), #7913 Fondant (Pink) , #7917 Peeps (Yellow) and a small amount #7999 Jet (Black) One set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE Tapestry needle 1 St marker 3 St holders Small amount of Polyfil for stuffing
GAUGE 20 sts = 4”; 24 rows = 4” in St st on size 8 needles TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE
DOLL Legs (Make 2): With 2 dpn’s, using Blue, cast on 22 sts. Work even in St st for 1”, end on WS. Break off yarn and leave sts on needle. Work 2nd leg in the same manner with the other 2 needles. Do not break off yarn at end. Body: Joining Rnd: K22 sts from 2nd leg, then k22 sts from 1st leg – 44 sts. Divide sts onto 3 needles, mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st (k

Divide for armholes: K10 and sl these sts onto 1st holder, bind off 2 sts, k20, sl remaining 12 sts onto 2nd holder. Beg with a p row, work back and forth in St st on 20 sts for 3 rows, end on WS. Change to Blue. Work in St st for 8 rows, end on WS. Break off yarn and sl sts onto 3rd holder. With RS facing, sl 12 sts from 2nd holder onto needle, join Pink and bind off 2 sts, k to end. Break off yarn and sl 10 sts from 1st holder onto same needle – 20 sts. Join Pink in last st on needle and, beg with a p row, work back and forth in St st for 3 rows, end on WS. Change to Blue. Work in St st for 8 rows, end on WS. Joining Rnd: Change to Yellow and k20, cast on 2 sts, k20 sts from 3rd holder, cast on 2 sts – 44 sts. Divide sts onto 3 needles, mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Head: Work even in St st for 2 1/2”. Divide for Ears: 1st Ear: K5 and sl these sts to 1st holder, bind off 12 sts, k until there are 10 sts on needle after bound-off sts, sl remaining 17 sts to 2nd holder – 10 sts. Purl 1 row. Dec Row: (K2 tog) 5 times – 5 sts. Break off yarn leaving an end for sewing. Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through sts on needle. Pull up tightly and secure. Sew side seam. 2nd Ear: Sl 17 sts from 2nd holder to needle, bind off 12 sts, k to end – 5 sts. Break off yarn and sl 5 sts from 1st holder onto needle – 10 sts. Join yarn in last st on needle and purl 1 row. Complete same as 1st Ear. Sew bound-off sts tog for top of head. Arms: With RS facing, using dpn’s and Blue, beg at bottom of armhole, pick up and k15 sts around entire armhole edge. Divide onto 3 needle, mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st for 6 rnds. Dec Rnd 1: K1, * k2 tog, rep from * around – 8 sts. Dec Rnd 2: (K2 tog) 4 times – 4 sts. Break off yarn leaving an end. Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles. Pull up tightly and secure. Skirt: With dpn’s, using Pink, cast on 96 sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st for 5 rnds. Dec Rnd: * K2 tog, rep from * around – 48 sts. Bind off. Sew bound-off edge of ruffle to 1st rnd of Pink on body, pleating center front as in photo.
FINISHING Using tapestry needle, embroider faces on each side of head as in photo. We used duplicate st in Black for eyes and in Pink for mouth for face on the front. On the back we used duplicate st in Pink for the mouth and tied knots with 2 strands of Black for eyes. Stuff body tightly. Using Blue, sew cast-on sts at bottom of legs tog and sew inner leg seams.
