STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I would like to introduce myself as Keyur Rasikbhai PATEL and I am from India but currently living in Melbourne, Australia. I was born in 13th Nov 1992. I am always curious towards learning new things and topics. Its era of technology and I always feel excited towards learning about technology and devote my career in such a dynamic field. I can feel that there are still tremendous developments to come in this field. Choosing Computer Science during college studies was one of the steps which I took to learn more about technology. It is my goal to continue my education in a more competitive, elite and international environment. The destinations in which I always wanted to pursue my postgraduate studies are New Zealand & Australia as both are known as the culturally and linguistically diverse populations in the world. Australia is culturally diverse country which has friendly natives and good educational system. I stayed in New Zealand and I observed that the technology, systematics, logistics and rules being corporate here is mostly from Australia. So, it would be an opportunity to learn the different aspects related to latest technology by studying and practically doing things in Australia. Moreover, Australian degree is also recognised globally by many institutes and companies. Universities in Australia are among top rankings in the world which provides high educational system. The Reason for continuing my further study in Australia includes the factors like high quality educational system, highly recognized postgraduate degree and exposure to fast paced western work culture compare to India & NZ. Therefore, I moved to Australia back in 2016 to study Networking and Network security as specialized vocational courses at ALTEC College which gave me a better chance and broad spectrum to understand the Australia and Australian education. Since I had completed my bachelor’s in computer applications from India and Level 7 Diploma in Computing from New Zealand I decided to go with further Higher Education as Masters (Post Graduation). I have also found out that the course contents, duration of the course, and the fee structure offered by Federation University is far more competitive, than that offered by other institutions among New Zealand, India and US. Moreover, the PSWR after completion of my MASTERS offers me a chance to gain the experience and use my skills in a world-class workforce with an unbeatable exposure. Bearing in mind that I will be gaining an Australian international qualification, which will provide me with knowledge and training at an international level and the exposure that I will receive during my tenure at this course will be second to none. In the recent years, my parents moved to US as Green card holders and advised me to join them in US as well and has helped me to process and apply for my Green Card (which can take up to 2-3 years). Therefore, I did research the US market and found out that the Master of Technology specialize in Enterprise Systems & Business Analytics would best suit me and will help me in case if I would be moving to US in future. I have spoken to some of my friends who are residing and working in US and once they spoken to me and gone through the course content MTech Enterprise Systems & Business Analytics offers they have preferred the program as per the US industry demands among other master’s is similar field offered by other institutes. Also, even from the Indian industry’s reference I researched the same degree will have more better chance and will provide me the edge over the other competitors in securing a place as job and later in career. All this thinking and parental advice has lead me to believe that Australia is a destination of choice for higher studies and this is where I would like to up-skill my knowledge and study further. Therefore, I am applying to join Master of Technologies Enterprise Systems & Business Analytics, commencing in the March of 2018. I am convinced that I am well prepared for the challenges of studying in your master’s program because of my extensive academic and practical background, which I will describe in detail below. I started researching on the field of my interest. After serious research and with the help of my lectures as they noticed my fast groping of in computers encouraged me to continue broadening my scientific understanding and developing my analytical skills. It was due in large part to their guidance and advice that I chose to do my bachelor’s in computer applications in Ahmedabad University. During this time, I

studied interesting subjects like Maths, computing software, Statistical Methods, Oracle, Unix, Computer Graphics, Internet programming and languages like C and C++ and I achieved 2nd class grade. After finishing my Bachelors, I had done my Level 7 Vocational studies from Auckland, NZ under related field and scored 120 credits with an integrated one-year course in Computer Applications as a lateral entry and achieved 78%. Later I continued the specialized studies in Networking and Network Security here in Melbourne Australia. This was the time when I realised that technology is changing on a fast pace and to be updated I need more skills especially the practical skills as Indian medium of studies is quite restricted with the updated practical knowledge. So, I decided to keep studying in Australia and my family supported my decision. It was very tough for me to choose which place and University to study in Australia, but I choose Fed Uni which is located at Melbourne, Australia. It is a public university based on the most liveable city on planet Melbourne, Australia. University is offering Master of Technology (enterprise systems & Business Analytics). Located in one of the country's fastest growing regions, the Fed Uni campus at Melbourne has grown to accommodate more than 10,000 students. Since 2010, Fed Uni has been the institution in Victoria to receive five stars for teaching quality. The University boasts a highly engaged Learning and Teaching Committee and, an active and responsive Centre for Support and Advancement of Learning and Teaching (C-SALT). The students studying there whom I came across during my research via social media are extremely satisfied and gave me really good feedback compare to the Brisbane & Sydney counter parts The tuition fee is also affordable in this University for my course in compare to other University in Australia having same course which I want to study. Like as Monash University has similar course, but tuition fee is AUD $35,000 & University of Melbourne has similar course, but tuition fee is AUD $30,000 where as in Fed Uni it is AUD $20,400 per year as special promotion for the batch I’m going with.

The location of Fed Uni is also what I prefer to study and live because it’s located in Melbourne, which encompasses the calmest city, great weather and most liveable place on planet. I really like place which is less crowded. There are lots of things to see and do at Melbourne, Victoria. As I like to explore it would be a great experience to continue living and enjoy here. Fed University is reputed for its quality education in Australia and graduates from there have good standings in future whether it is for job or for further study in future. After doing several research and investigations, I decided to study master’s at Fed Uni, Melbourne Vic. As technology is growing rapidly, I want to upgrade my skills I want to pursue a master’s Degree in Information and Communication Technology. It will commence in March 2018. It will help me to build career in networking, Business Analyst, ICT specialist, Database programming and other field of Information Technology. I will have vast choices later to seek for if I take this course. Fed Uni is highly reputed University in Australia and provides best quality of education which will help me to get one of best education and grow my career in field of Computing & Information Technology with the Business applications. Studying in Australia’s Fed Uni will allow me to live, experience and study in deep new cultures and markets. I am looking forward to being a part of such a Big name. Because it would be very beneficial for my future growth. My goal of life is to become successful Information Technology Professional and work in a good IT Company in India or US. India is still developing in field of IT, there is great demand for graduates who understand computing technology and provide solutions to help people and benefit organisations in India. India is the topmost offshoring destination for IT companies across the world. Having proven its capabilities in

delivering both on-shore and off-shore services to global clients, emerging technologies now offer an entire new gamut of opportunities for top IT firms in India. US$ 150 billion Indian IT industry’s export revenue to grow at 7-8% and domestic market revenue is projected to grow at 10-11 per cent in 2017-18. Studying in Australia would help me to enhance my skills and would make me closer to my goal of becoming a successful information technology professional. Furthermore, in longer run IT business is one of the booming businesses in India and my research on this subject tells me that, the income potential of even a small self-contained IT venture in India is much higher, due to the already huge and ever increasing medium class population of cities in India and the consistently growing number of international companies now days. It’s been surveyed and forecasted that by the 2027 IT industry will be contributing US$348 Billion P/Y in GDP and the Foreign investment companies will be increased by 15000 P/Y. Movement is providing maximum financial and infrastructure help to set up the IT industry. There are lot of government incentives and drives to encourage Business ventures in my country. I want to exploit the benefits of this opportunity.

I have also explored many interesting places of New Zealand & Australia. I have enough savings to pay 1st semester fees. Furthermore, my real sister who is an Australian Citizen and my Parents who reside in US will support me Financially to study in Australia.

My visa sub class is 500. I must have a valid health insurance during my stay in Australia. I should attend 80% of attendance in each semester. I can work 40 hours per fortnight during my semester period and full time on vacations.

I will sincerely follow each instruction and order given to me by my University. In order to make my ambitions come true, I need Australian Student Visa so that I can study and join Fed Uni to enhance my career and go back to my home country or to US to utilise the knowledge and skills which I would like to gain in Australia for getting excellent standings in getting job back in India/US and in future can open my own business related to information technology.
